Sit & enjoy the solitude or explore the 12,300 acres of state land in Schoharie County’s rural town of Fulton.

The space
Wake to birdcalls and watch the sun rise over your private Catskill mountain view. Enjoy a cup of French press coffee on the porch before a leisurely walk on the trail which winds through 35 acres of woods surrounding the cottage. The tiny main building is your central living space, with comfortable seating and an expandable writing table. A concealed, full-size Murphy bed easily pulls down for sleeping and folds away as needed. Linens are provided.
The efficiency kitchen has ample counter space, gas stove with oven, an ice chest, and a sink fed by a gravity system. It is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, French coffee press coffee maker. Complimentary eggs, bread, coffee and tea and juice will tide you over until you've had a chance to visit local groceries. Potable water is provided and the solar battery system takes care of lighting and ice blocks for the cooler.
Follow the pergola path between buildings to the spotless, sky-lit bathhouse. There you'll find a hot shower, flush toilet and lighting also powered by battery and gravity-fed water. Towels and soaps are provided.
Soak-up the evening solitude around a fire in the outdoor barrel stove while you identify constellations in the big starry sky. Fire wood provided.
If you love the outdoors or are a “Tiny house” enthusiast and find off grid living attractive this is your perfect retreat.

Sit still, relax or wander our 35 acres of woods at your leisure. Come/go through your private access to explore the rural offerings & local hikes on 12,300 acres of state land in the town of Fulton. There are no neighbors in sight and no light pollution to disrupt the starry skies. Intermittent cell phone service keeps the world at bay.

Take a drive off the main roads to scout out remnants of forgotten towns and farms. Tiny hamlets, rustic architecture, artists’ workshops and barns abound. And there are thirty-three thousand acres of state land for all manner of outdoor activities. See NY DEC website. A paper map is highly recommended for backroad forays.

Grower/manager of perennial nursery, Owner/builder of Little Green Cottage, Environmentalist, Mountain biker, Mom, Grandmother. Together with husband built their home and Patria Gardens. Clare grew-up and chose to stay in the area due to it's natural beauty, rural character, and life style independence. Respect of natural surrounding (audible as well as visual) and personal space are extremely important elements of life.
