About this listing
My house is called Hidden Museum after 'the museum of their encounter' a quote from Djuna Barnes 'Nightwood'.
The house is full of art, books and music. My garden is lovely. The bedroom is tranquil and when I have people staying my own stuff is removed so it is very neutral.
You can rent the room or we could house swap!!
Whalley Range is very close to the City Centre of Manchester. I cycle to my yoga classes and have two bikes here that one can be used by a guest. I know a lot of good yoga teachers and will be able to show you a good time! Namaste :)
Whalley Range is an area of Manchester, England, about 2 miles southwest of the city centre. It was one of the earliest of the city's suburbs, built by local businessman and banker Samuel Brooks.
It was one of Manchester's first suburbs and called "a desirable estate for gentlemen and their families".
Total access to your bedroom, shower/toilet/main room and kitchen. Not accessible: my room, back room and art room.
Interaction with Guests
If I am about I will print out maps and show you things online to help but some of you may not even see me and I leave notes around.
Whalley Range is very close to the City Centre but has its own shops and cafes. Very close is a place called Chorlton which is very trendy and filled with independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.
I am 2 minutes to the bus stop into city centre, its a short walk to the bus to Old Trafford and a little further to the tram to Manchester Airport.
Other Things to Note
I have a key safe and you will need to contact me for the code to get keys to access the house as I may be away.
No smoking anywhere in or near the house.
No cooking meat or eggs.
Remember its my home.
My brother and i arrived at the house not knowing if Rachael was there, i send her a message earlier that she dindn't reply to, but she e-mailed me before how to let our selfs in. We rang the door bell, but she didn't answer so we just went in. When we wandered around the house to find our room Rachael came out oft hers. Even though she seemed very confused and tired she showed us around the place and explained everything. The maps she e-mailed me before were very helpful, too. The house was crowded with stuff and seemed chaotic, but everything was very clean. The only thing that freaked me out a little were scary puppets in our bedroom. Racheal was a friendly host, always trying to help us with our questions. The location was pretty good in a neat neighborhood and not far from the city center by bus.
Nice big room in a quirky house at the end of a peaceful avenue. I arrived late in the evening to the house but nothing was a problem. Thanks again.
Rachael was a very welcoming host who endeavored to answer all of my questions. She gave me some advice on things that I could do. She also was very polite even though I was not able to give here a clear outline of when I would be arriving.
Rachael was a wonderful host to us.
She even supplied gluten free breakfast which was too kind!
Great at communicating.
Stay at Manchester with Rachael was my good experience. She was very well prepared and her house was clean and comfortable. I love to stay here. Highly recommend. ^.^
