About this listing
My house is called Hidden Museum after 'the museum of their encounter' a quote from Djuna Barnes 'Nightwood'.
The house is full of art, books and music. My garden is lovely. The bedroom is tranquil and when I have people staying my own stuff is removed so it is very neutral.
You can rent the room or we could house swap!!
Whalley Range is very close to the City Centre of Manchester. I cycle to my yoga classes and have two bikes here that one can be used by a guest. I know a lot of good yoga teachers and will be able to show you a good time! Namaste :)
Whalley Range is an area of Manchester, England, about 2 miles southwest of the city centre. It was one of the earliest of the city's suburbs, built by local businessman and banker Samuel Brooks.
It was one of Manchester's first suburbs and called "a desirable estate for gentlemen and their families".
Total access to your bedroom, shower/toilet/main room and kitchen. Not accessible: my room, back room and art room.
Interaction with Guests
If I am about I will print out maps and show you things online to help but some of you may not even see me and I leave notes around.
Whalley Range is very close to the City Centre but has its own shops and cafes. Very close is a place called Chorlton which is very trendy and filled with independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.
I am 2 minutes to the bus stop into city centre, its a short walk to the bus to Old Trafford and a little further to the tram to Manchester Airport.
Other Things to Note
I have a key safe and you will need to contact me for the code to get keys to access the house as I may be away.
No smoking anywhere in or near the house.
No cooking meat or eggs.
Remember its my home.
Rachael was a very welcoming host who endeavored to answer all of my questions. She gave me some advice on things that I could do. She also was very polite even though I was not able to give here a clear outline of when I would be arriving.
Rachael was a wonderful host to us.
She even supplied gluten free breakfast which was too kind!
Great at communicating.
Stay at Manchester with Rachael was my good experience. She was very well prepared and her house was clean and comfortable. I love to stay here. Highly recommend. ^.^
Rachael was very friendly and helpful giving us all the information about how to get to her place, where to find keys etc. The room was clean and big enough and looked great. It was a bit cold, but the whole place looked really nice and very artistic. Unfortunatly we didn`t have time to chat with Rachael or to explore the area around, so I can`t say more about the accomodation.
Same in english:
Accommodation at Rachael turned to say the least, mediocre. Location - is said to be so - far from the center - about 30 minutes by bus. From pluses - good bed, blankets, clothes, clean toilet / shower. Kitchen - full horror! - absolutely uncomfortable, dirty - lots of dirty dishes that had been soaked in the sink, on the stove any uneaten food debris in the pan. We absolutely did't feel any hospitality. In the morning, hostess cames into the kitchen, puts on rubber gloves, washed the plate for hertself (from the soaked pile in the sink), makes coffee for herself only, has formed his breakfast on a tray and walked away with him in her room. There is not kitchen table for breakfast there - I had to eat standing up ... However, breakfast products guests were on hand at it, then at least respect the hostess. House 1801 edition, creaky wooden floors. The house is a mess frank, but apparently, the creative mind is called "artistic mess". In short, I do not recommend. There are tons of places more Central and civilized.
Rachael's place is really like a little museum - very artistic and cozy. Room is big enough and the bed is very comfortable. Rachael was very flexible with our arrival time and she made our visit pleasant. Recommendation for this lovely host and her place!
