The terrace and location of this apartment make it a total gem! You could not ask for a better location in Monopoli right outside of the castle and on the water. Gorgeous. The terrace is huge and has great furniture. We were happy to spend most of our time here. Ilaria was really helpful and was very available for us with all of our questions and arranged for our transport to the airport as well with her brother. Loved all the lovely snacks provided for breakfast too. We spent a very relaxing three nights here after lots of moving and exploring around Puglia, so it was a wonderful break.
We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It's in a fab location, right beside the castle in the old town, with great views over the harbour and the sea. The deck is the crowning glory of course. We never actually met Ilaria, but she was in regular contact, arranged for her father to collect us from the airport, and even organised for us to be able to store our bikes overnight in her father's garage, which was a blessing when we saw the steep stairs to the apartment! She also very thoughtfully left us some items for breakfast so we didn't have to go out shopping the minute we arrived.
We would really recommend this property as a place to stay in Puglia. The house had everything we needed - a well equipped kitchen and good wifi.
As previous reviews have mentioned the terrace is wonderful. It's a great spot for catching some sun and eating whilst to looking out to sea. The steep steps up to the first floor and the terrace could be a challenge to some but are worth it for the views. The sea can be reached by some steps down from the road outside the house and we enjoyed swimming in it most days.
We liked Monopoli, it has a nice relaxed holiday atmosphere, lots of character and some good restaurants. It's easy to reach from Bari Airport and to use as a base to visit other parts of Puglia.
Illaria was a really good host - warm and friendly and helpful. She and her friend met us quite late in the evening when we arrived and helped us to park and with our bags.
Overall - definitely recommended!
The home was wonderful. Ilaria was very flexible and easy to meet up, even though it was late on a busy Friday evening. She was very helpful with things to do in the surrounding area. The view and location are perfect and the home had everything we could need. Stairs are steep for those with issues, but it's worth it for the view! Would absolutely stay here again without hesitation!
What an amazing house. The terrace is what makes it so fantastic. There are a lot of steps so not suitable for very young children and very old people who struggle with stairs but Illaria did point that out to us. She made us so welcome and supplied a welcome pack to include 3 litres of wine from her dad. What a gift! Other than the terrace there is a cooler water filter giving you cold water 24/7 and you therefore do not need to buy bottled water. Fantastic!! Illaria organised transport by her dad to and from the airport. The house has all you need and more. There is so much going on in the square below and in the main square in the town. The food is amazing and very reasonable. We had a perfect 2 week holiday and would return. Thank you so much for making our stay so great!
Illaria was wonderful, she answered all my emails and provided advise about things to do in Puglia. This part of Italy is stunning, I will definitely be back.
The house itself is in the old town, your taxi can't drive in but it's not a very long walk to the house, the house does have very step steps to get up, and I felt very bad watching Illaria heave my suitcase up the stairs. Its really not that bad though and absolutely worth it when you get up there. The house was very warm (typical for this time of the year) and we couldn't seem to get the air con working at night, but possibly user error more than anything else. Every night there was something going on in the square directly outside and lots of people sit outside and chat till 2 or 3 in the morning, which when combined with open windows to allow air in at night and drilling noises the next morning as the put up and down the stage and sound for the next days activities mean not much sleep, but for a holiday lazing by the beach its fine, especially when you get into the Italian timings and have an afternoon nap and go out to dinner at 9pm.
We loved it though and that roof terrace is wonderful, we cooked in the kitchen one night and had everything we needed.
This wonderful Holidays SeaHouse is a real dream of staying in the middle of the city, next to the castello and yet very quite and relaxed.
Monopoli is a charming city, full of Life in the evenings.
Iaria and her family are really indeed very friendly, helpful and doing their outmost to have us to feel at home. Not only picking us up at the station but also bringing us back. The apartment in two levels is very well equiped with a large and wonderful terasse at the top floor with a mordern kitchen.
There where things for breakfast already supplied.
just one thing - we stayed to short this time.
