Interaction with Guests
We take the lead from our guests. When our side door is opened, please come in and say hello.
We are in and out all day long, so we are easy to get ahold of...we respect our guests and their needs.
We love our eclectic neighborhood, with a small town feel and all the funky locally owned places that wouldn't be found in suburan areas.
We think the Big Kitchen is a blast from the past! Our locally homemade family ice cream is the bomb! We have some incredible resturants within walking distance!
If you enjoy a nice walk, you can easily be at the busline and right in the heart of our sweet little local neighborhood. There are canyons to explore and wildlife that surprises! You can rent bikes or get a "go car" or take the bus (with some planning).
Other Things to Note
There's no need to miss your exercise plan while here on vacation. We have any sport you can think of within the town, so if you want to check out something with a San Diego flavor - it's here!
This is a retreat-like setting and peacefulness is valued. The use of grounds and pool for guests. their families, and close friends. The cabin is small, but small children have stayed with their families in a cot which we provide. This is a non-smoking rental - it's not good for you or Mother Earth :)
First, my hosts were so warm and welcoming that I felt like family. Their dogs, Meme and Ranger, are sweet and friendly. The cabin was cozy and well-appointed.
Everything you need is there. Even little things (like an umbrella) that I didn't think of were there,
The neighborhood is quaint and convenient, not to mention quiet. I always felt safe and comfortable both in and around the property. It's very close to so many other neighborhoods, too. North Park, South Park, University Heights, Balboa Park, the airport, Little Italy, just to name some of the convenient spots. Some restaurants I would recommend include The Big Kitchen, Rebecca's, Plumeria, and Amorzita Corazon.
I would definitely recommend staying here for many reasons. Jean and Chris are marvelous. The cabin is cute and comfy. The area is great. I'm so glad for my week there. Gratitude and joy extended to my hosts again!
Chris and Jean were fantastic hosts. Being our first time using Airbnb, we didn't quite know how it all worked. They were easy to communicate with, very accessible, and incredibly accommodating. The art studio provided a wonderfully peaceful repose from our normally frantic and frenetic lives. Thank you two for your incredible hospitality, interest in our son, and the conversations about tiny houses!
We had a wonderful time in the Art Studio. The description was perfect and Jean and Chris were terrific hosts. This place is magical and I hope we can visit again. The studio is centrally located and only 15-20 min from everywhere we wanted to go. It is a little rustic but that worked well for us. Hard to believe when sitting on the little porch that you are in the middle of a large city.
This place is the best airbnb I've ever stayed in. I felt so comfortable and welcome and safe. It was immaculately clean and organized. A quiet, peaceful space all to myself full of life, hope and love.
The only thing that wasn't the best was the very very short shower. The hot water lasts for about 3-4 minutes. eek! They suggest taking navy showers but even then you're really only going to get up to a 6 minute shower. This doesn't quite cut it for me.
I would still stay here again and soak in the sweet atmosphere. :-)
The setting was amazing! We get there and immediately feel comfortable with our hosts -- and their two gorgeous dogs! Many kisses from the puppies and good conversation and wine from the humans.
The space is comfortable and completely stocked for a good long stay. The yard is gorgeous and offers many options for sitting outside and reveling in the San Diego air with coffee or wine.
And seriously, sleep with the doors open. Best nights of sleep evah. (-; Could this bed be any more cozy?
Enjoyed the conversation and home-baked muffins from Chris and Jean -- they listen carefully and offer excellent food recs and hear if you drop a quiet comment about it being your anniversary (hence, the muffins). Just loving humans that are very worth spending time with.
And we mentioned how awesome their pups are? (-; So sweet, very gentle -- will love you as much as you let them -- will leave you alone if you're not into dogs. Absolutely beautiful animals.
We will visit again. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Chris greeted me and showed me all the intricacies of the site. He was friendly and made himself available whenever we needed any thing. I loved the (email hidden)e cabin a magical creation...within walking distance of an enclave of restaurants, shops, coffee bars, and a liquor store...clean, comfortable, quiet, middle class neighborhood...plus, they had two large, friendly dogs that wove around like eels...eager to be pet...really pleasant and easy...Also, close to freeways and access to all points of interest...ideal for single or cozy couple
