The house was fantastic, very clean, and well stocked with linens and towels. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for all six of us. As well, the area was great. It was close enough to walk to the bars and restaurants on Magazine, and far enough away to be quiet. The neighborhood, while being a working class neighborhood, is cute, safe, and full of personality and interesting architecture. It makes the walk up to Magazine interesting. If you're coming in as a tourist and doing touristy things, there is a stop nearby for the on-and-off tourist bus, and you can catch public transportation nearby. If you don't mind a slight walk (still less than a mile), you can also catch the streetcar. It's a good place to come back to after a full day of doing things. Good to catch a meal at the Rum House or one of the other restaurants and then walk back and relax.
This 2 Bedroom apartment was comfortable and perfect for our purposes. A nice warm shower in the morning and cosy beds at night.
We had such a wonderful stay! Our hosts were really accommodating, getting back to us right away to answer any questions we had and to make sure we had everything we needed. All the beds were comfortable, the linens soft, the ceilings high, the towels plentiful and the banana tree in the backyard had more bananas than we could possibly eat.
The neighborhood is historic, beautiful, friendly and felt totally safe. Near tons of shops, restaurants and a market it's all you could really want. My friends wanted to stay in the Bywater, but this house and this neighborhood is way more bang for your buck.
Thank you again!
The apartment was incredibly well-furnished and comfortable. The kitchen, laundry, and bath facilities were excellent. The beds and pull-out futon were very comfortable for the six of us. Only a fifteen-minute walk from the St. Charles Ave streetcar. We were thrilled.
The apartment was exactly what we needed. Great space to relax and cook. Walking distance to a local grocery store, shops and restaurants. Jill was great and provided all that we needed! We had a great stay and will definitely be back!
Jill's shotgun apartment is wonderful! Expect a traditional New Orleans layout, with no hallways, but comfortable furnishings, hardwood floors, and a nicely stocked kitchen and laundry. The apartment is in walking distance of Magazine St., and the shops, restaurants and bars therein.
I stayed in this home with my theatre company while in town for the fringe and I couldn't have been happier with the house. The 2 beds and futon were all comfortable, and the house was equipped with everything we needed to feel at home for the week. Jill even tracked down an air mattress for us so that our seventh company member could fit comfortably! It was very clean and having the backyard to take in the lovely weather was really nice. Even though I never met Jill in person she was very helpful and communicative via text and email.
The neighborhood was convenient to the bus and street car and there were great shops restaurants and nightlife just a few blocks away. I would definitely recommend staying here.
