Charlotte's place was great. Clean, comfortable, with a beautiful unobstructed view on the roof. Her instructions for the apartment were very clear and the tips helpful. She was quick to respond to any questions and the property manager was lovely as well. We liked the location, although 'far' from the centre of town, the walk down is beautiful and it's easy to access other parts of San Miguel as well. In a nutshell, we'd stay there again when visiting San Miguel. Thanks Charlotte!

We had a great stay at Casa Caracol we had the middle apartment and it had a good kitchen and comfortable living room, the bedroom was also very comfortable-great bed. The roof top terrace has a wonderful view of San Miguel de Allende because the house is on the hill above the center of town. This of course means that it is a good hike down and back to the apartment over the steep cobblestone streets. We love walking and it was no problem for us..cabs are easy to get if you should need one . An advantage to this location was that it was quiet at night. Charlotte was very responsive if there were questions. It is of course Mexico so drinking water had to be bought at the store down the street after the first bottle was through and toilet paper could not be put in the toilet. The cleaning lady was very good and helpful as we couldn't carry the large water bottles and her husband carried them for us.

I stayed in one of the Casa Caracol apartments for a month. It was great, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The building is on the side of a mountain and the apartments (the one I was in, at least), had great views of the town below. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the town center (which is uphill on the way back, of course). It might get tiring if you're doing it multiple times a day, but it's not a big deal if you're doing it once. The apartment itself was clean and beautiful. A maid comes once a week to clean, and it's recommended that you tip (I tipped between 75-100 pesos/week). Someone else comes and offers to do your laundry once a week, and that was also 100 pesos/week (she got the laundry back to me 2 days after I gave it to her each time). There are some laundry places in town that might be cheaper but this was nice and convenient. People in the neighboring houses and buildings sometimes played loud music, but this is Mexico and that's kind of par for the course. You'll get that wherever you are. Overall, I loved it. As I said, it was a great place to stay and I'd definitely stay there again. Thanks Charlotte.

Charlotte's Casa Caracol was a fantastic surprise. Walking in the door, I felt at home. The first floor studio has a great view, a cozy, comfortable bed, and nice furnishing/decoration. It was impeccably clean. I would undoubtedly stay here again in the future. Plus, it was close enough to town that I could take a long walk through San Miguel's winding streets or grab a taxi. My only recommendation is to bring some earplugs as sound transfers easily within the house and from the streets. Also, Charlotte as a host was very informative, giving plenty of instructions on how to operate the house properly.

My husband and I have been self employed artists for 30 years. He is a fine wood furniture designer and has done all the building on the Austin TX house. I'm a freelance photographer. I have decorated the houses.
We live part of the year in San Miguel de Allende MX and designed our house there as well. That home has 3 one bedroom apartments.
