We had a wonderful stay in this apartment on our visit to Venice. We were (email hidden) d'Oro vaporetto station by Serena who escorted us to the apartment. I was a little confused on the location on the Airbnb website so it was a huge help to have Serena take us there personally. She was very nice and gave us a tour of the apartment. It's in a great location, very picturesque and nice and quiet. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be the shower backed up quickly. Otherwise, everything was great. Thank you for a warm welcome to Venice and making our stay so comfortable!
The location was grossly misrepresented on the Airbnb map, and the internet was unavailable during our entire stay. The apartment seems to be handled by a holding company of sorts, and the checking process was arduous.
The location of the of the apartment turned out to be fine (walkable from the train station) but nowhere near where we had originally intended to stay. If you (website hidden) "Il Santo Bevitore" it's right next door to the bat, which by the way, is a great little spot.
Overall the apartment was clean, and reasonably well equipped (no corkscrew / soap).
Great apartment... good location. We met up with Valentina at the ferry stop no problem.
The reservation was canceled 23 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We were picked up by Marco, who was very helpful and gave us a tour of the apartment and guided us through the rules and regulations of the apartment and of Venice itself. The apartment was lovely with great air conditioning (perfect for the heat). The two rooms were spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms were beautiful and clean. The power went out twice, but our friendly neighbors helped us switch it back on (make sure to ask your guide how to do it in case this happens to you). The only real problem was that the wifi was not working when we arrived and for the subsequent day. The day that we were leaving it started to work again however. All in all it was a great stay, the apartment was in a quiet and safe area and close to everything, as Venice is very walkable.
We stayed in Apt 2 near the Ca'Doro Vaporetti Station. The photos truly reflect the apartment, and was very spacious for the two of us. Depending on whether you get lost, and the amount of foot traffic, Rialto Bridge and San Marco is easily walkable. There are restaurants near the apartment that serves delicious and affordable food - away from the 'main' street. Wireless internet was fast! The apartment definitely made our stay in Venice comfortable and extremely memorable. I definitely recommend staying here!
Note: when arranging an arrival time to meet the 'care taker', make sure to allow for any delays or mishaps. Our train was late by about 30 minutes, and queues for vaporetti tickets can get quiet lengthy. I mistakenly only allowed for 45 minutes. Unfortunately we arrived late at the boat station, with no one to meet us. This was quite stressful, as we didn't know if the person meeting would return or where the apartment was, so we did the best we can to try and find the apartment with the limited information provided, hoping the person meeting us would be there. We ended up walking around for a couple of hours, periodically returning to the boat station hoping the person meeting us would return... we ended up going to the McDonalds, which is down the alley from the boat station, to access their free wi-fi. I think that saved us, as we were able to contact Marzia. Not long after we were in the apartment, and all the stress disappeared.
