Unique apartment in an interesting area with lots of great food options
When we first arrived at the apartment, we were favourably impressed by a number of things. It is larger than it appears in the pictures. There is a toilet on the ground floor in addition to the one upstairs (not evident in the description). There is also a dish washer, not mentioned in the list of amenities.
Worth noting that the dryer is embedded in the washing machine, therefore you cannot wash and dry at the same time. Still very useful.
Also worth noting (for smokers) that, even though you cannot smoke in the apartment, there is the little courtyard with a table and a couple of chairs where it is possible to.
During our stay (18 days) there were a couple of cold days in Paris. The heating worked like a charm.
The position of the apartment, though not exactly central, is in a nice and safe area, full of good little restaurants. Rue Operkampf is a sort of village in itself! Moreover, there are 3 lines of Metro within a 5-minutes walk, and the stops of the 96 bus (very frequent) that crosses all Paris from the right to the left-bank, and passes by many tourist attractions like Place des Vosges, Hôtel de Ville, Notre Dame, (website hidden). Michel, Odéon, Jardin du Luxembourg.
The street and the courtyard of the apartment are extremely calm, and the nights totally silent, allowing for a good sleep.
We had a little problem with Internet one day. We contacted the owner: she was immediately available and quickly solved the problem.
Bottom line: we had a pleasant stay there and feel like recommending this apartment.
The apartment was exactly as pictured. Beautiful and perfect for my first time in Paris. The apartment was safe, clean, comfortable I would definitely stay here again.
I stayed with my mother in Elodie's beautiful rental for 10 days. It was spotless upon our arrival and very comfortable. Elodie met us and had great recommendations for our time in Paris. We only needed to reach her once -- we wanted to be sure the stove did work, but it was just a little slow! -- and it was very easy to get ahold of her.
We loved the neighborhood. It felt very safe and had all the things you would want. Close to the Metro, grocery store, two delicious bakeries a stone's throw away, market (food some days, and other days a flea market), and several great restaurants on the block.
The apartment is well stocked with plenty of bedding and towels, basic kitchen needs (we so enjoyed having a kitchen to keep some drinks and treats on hand), and some toiletries. The internet was fast and easy to use.
Exquisite 2-story apartment, a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a bar, and a large bedroom upstairs with a double bed. There's enough room for two people to stay comfortably.
Located between Parmentier and Oberkampf, the area is very lively, and the neighboring streets are filled with bars and restaurants, (which could be noisy though).
All in all, the stay was pleasant.
This was a nice flat and Elodie was a great host. It is a good amount of space with a kitchen & living area downstairs and a large bedroom upstairs with the bathroom. There were plenty of blankets, a really comfy duvet and nice towels. It was well located to be able to walk all around Eastern Paris - we walked to destinations in Canal St. Martin as well as through Le Marais and down to Notre Dame all in one day. It is close to several Metro stops. It is located a little outside of the touristy area of Le Marais which is a good thing if you want a more neighborhoody, authentic, local experience and closer to some of the "hipper" bars and restaurants. There is a great little bar on the corner and great Le Verre Vole wine shop and epicerie literally around the corner. If you walk further down Rue Oberkampf there are more bars, the kind I went to in my 20s. However, we were here over Christmas week and many restaurants were closed unfortunately. We found ourselves walking a few blocks southwest on a daily basis to get to the more central part of Le Marais. The flat is on the ground floor on a cute and quiet side street. You walk through the lobby into a central courtyard and then enter the apartment. There was no view because it is on the ground floor and faces the courtyard. Also the kitchen only has a small mini fridge and a stovetop but no oven. But these were small things. All in all it was a good choice for the price and location.
Nice house in a nice area. Lots of good bars and restaurants. Never met the hostess, but were welcomed with a nice bottle of wine and lots of things in the fridge and pantry.
