  • A lovely house just a few minutes walk from town. Wonderful view. Helen was a fantastic host - even though we didn't meet with here. I give my best recommendations.

  • It was a wonderful experience to stay at Helen's house. Watching cruise liners leaving the beautiful harbour, enjoying reading in the tastefully decorated living room, cooking in the fully equipped kitchen are amongst the benefits difficult to find while traveling. Grocery shopping and laundry service are within 10 minutes walk. Free parking is available 50 steps further on to the lookout.

  • Lovely flat centrally located in Cobh. Clean and lots of room. Very quiet town a bit off the beaten path. We enjoyed the very untypical Irish weather (it was sunny and very warm all week) and even looked forward to the breezes coming in off the water. Perfect contacts with Helen. Warmly recommened.

  • I did not get to meet Helen but her mother came to show us the home. It is a beautiful location overlooking the bay. The home is centrally located to the town and within a 5 minute walking distance to all the pubs and restaurants. Helen's home was clean and large enough to fit a big group. We had 8 people and we fit very comfortably.

Self Employed and Loving It!
I have a fabulous home in the heart of Cobh, which I love. My house is right in the centre of Cobh, 5 minutes stroll to the bars, restaurants and tourist attractions. Cobh is a great place to live and is situated on Great Island. The island is linked to the main land by a bridge and ferry, but still really close to Cork City, so it's a great base for exploring Cobh, Cork and the neighbouring Counties. We are also really luck to have a train service in Cobh - which takes a very scenic 25 minutes to Cork City. You can also take the train to Midleton and check out the Midleton Jameson Distillery. Cobh was once called Queenstown and was Titanic’s last port of call on the voyage to New York. Cobh has one of the largest natural harbours in the world. The cruise liners that visit Cobh, some of which are the largest in the world, pass by my windows, which is an amazing sight. Millions of Irish emigrants departed from Queenstown between 1848 and 1950, seeking a new life in North America. Much of historic Queenstown still remains including the train station, White Star Line’s office building, and St. Colman's Cathedral. One can imagine the excitement and confusion of the passengers and crew who passed through Cobh’s harbour waters to an unknown future. As well as being an airbnb lady, I am a qualified Nurse and Pranic Healer - which is a no touch energy treatment. Healing Packages can be arranged, if you want to address any health and well being issues in your life. (website hidden) 'Helen Geary Pranic Healer' and you will be able to check out my website. For the golfers out there, there are numerous courses within 30 minutes drive from my home. For a Customised Irish Golf Tour let me know and I will put you in touch with one of my former guests, who is now a Cobh Resident. There are daily boat trips around the harbour and to Spike Island, which is Ireland's version of Alcatraz. The Prison served as both a Military and Civilian prison over the years. Sea Angling Charters also operate from Cobh and across the harbour near the harbour mouth lies the village of Crosshaven, which boasts the oldest Yacht Club in the world. You will have a very warm welcome and will be encouraged to treat my home as your home while you're here in Cobh. My house is referred to by many as 'The House of Calm'. So if you want a calm, gentle environment and you are happy to come and go as you please, this is the place for you.
