About this listing
Stay in an old Portland farmhouse built in 1890 with a relaxing yard and garden in the Montavilla neighborhood. You'll have your own bathroom and cozy room with full sized bed.
Our house is an old farmhouse built in 1890 with a relaxing yard and garden, wood stove for the winter, and a quiet upstairs room with a full size bed for guests. The house itself has two bathrooms, so you will have your own while you are here.
Our house has fast wi-fi, a washer and dryer, hot water, two little dogs named Elvis and Trixie, two cats, and my partner and I. We both love to travel, work way too much, and enjoy meeting new people. I am a busy medical student and Heather is a middle school teacher. Our calendar is always updated with availability.

Portland is all about its neighborhoods! Montavilla is a small, artsy "satellite" neighborhood at the base of Mt. Tabor with ample restaurants (Lebanese, Japanese, Thai, Southern, Vietnamese, Halal, Mexican, pizza and PNW cuisine), pinball, pubs, a second-run movie theater, massage and chiropractic services, boutique clothing, import goods store and cafes/bakeries. There is also a farmer's market about three blocks away on Sundays from June-October. Montavilla makes a great jumping off point for exploring the city, along with everything else! Downtown, the Columbia River, Mt. Tabor, Powell Butte, Hawthorne neighborhood, and the waterfront of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers are all within a 20 minute bike ride or a 10 minute drive. Or, you could just stay in Montavilla and have everything that you need! Our walk score is 83.
By car, we are 15 mins from the airport. We are also near the intersection of I-84 and I-205, near the MAX line, and there is a bus direct to the heart of downtown. If you are traveling by bike, the house is 10 blocks from the 205 bike-only path, which is part of the 40 mile loop around the city. Rivercity Bikes rents bicycles, if you are into that. For public transport check out TriMet's "trip planner" on their website. A cab runs about $25-30 from the airport and they are always available. Portland also has Uber, which many of our guests have used.
Other Things to Note
We have a late check in time due to our work schedule, but just ask and we might be able to work something out for earlier.
Sorry, no kids or pets (for now). Thanks!
