We have had no noise problem with any guest who has stayed with us. We ask that you be reasonably quiet at night, but you are free to come and go as you wish. We do have a friendly quiet dog who is around the house. Please ask if you have specfic questions or concerns.
We stayed 2 weeks at Peter's place. Peter is really kind. He is concerned and gives you advices to set up in Vancouver. The room is great and gives a lot of privacy. He are very happy to have been in such place. Thanks Peter !
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
It would be hard for me to put down the experience in words because it has been so heart-felt for me.
Being new to a country where one doesn't know anybody, can be very overwhelming and if travelling with a family member who constantly worries, even about the smallest of things, can really put everything out of the window. But the stay at Peter's has been way more than just a warm welcome in this country and city for me as well as my father. At every little step Peter has been there guiding and helping me feel comfortable and secure here. Be it learning about the neighborhoods around us, or how to take the skytrain/bus and its working, or for the most important part - finding a place to live in for long term! - Peter has provided aid at every step and been so much more than just a host, that the time I stayed here literally just flew by me. I got adjusted pretty quickly with my college and the new routines all thanks to him and his daughter Morgan who has been so sweet and warm.
My dad left after 10 days of staying here while I extended my stay till I moved in the other place for the long term and its been almost 20 days. It felt like home and I highly recommend this place for anyone who wishes to just have a peaceful and happy stay in Vancouver. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and clean. The people are very friendly. And most importantly the location is very convenient because its close to the skytrain station and the bus stops and everything else, be it the Superstore or restaurants or any convenient stores are hardly a few minutes away. I couldn't have asked or a better experience than the one I've had here.
He has been so kind and thoughtful in making home-made biscotti cookies and tea the evening we moved in here and also wrapping up some for my father on the flight back home as a snack. He is genuinely a wonderful person and I hope I didn't trouble his nose a lot with the fumes from the hot spicy food I'd cook!
Like I said. Its been a great start on this journey for me and I've had the pleasure of meeting such good people thanks to booking this place, which I'm pretty sure, I wouldn't have otherwise. Its been a very positive sign for me and I hope it will be for anyone else who comes in to stay here too.
Breaks my heart a little knowing I'm leaving in a few hours and won't be able to play with Bella (their beautiful lab) everyday when I got home. C'est la vie!
Thank you so much Peter for everything. Means much more than words for me.
I stayed with Peter for five nights and I can't fault anything about my stay. Peter is incredibly knowledgable about Vancouver and the surrounding areas, and also very approachable, and his daughter Morgan is lovely. Their black lab, Bella, is a champion at big welcomes, and the three of them create a very welcoming environment.
The room was exactly as advertised, very clean (apart from the odd dog hair here and there) with a very comfortable double bed and a load of maps and leaflets about Vancouver to hand. The bathroom I used was pretty much for my use only as Peter and Morgan use the one upstairs. Laundry facilities work really well too.
The house is in a great location - a five minute walk to the SkyTrain which gets to downtown in fifteen minutes. From there you can walk around downtown, catch a bus to Granville Island, get across the water to North and West Vancouver, and Stanley Park is a short bus ride from downtown. Vancouver is a great city and Peter's place was the perfect base for someone exploring all areas of the city.
I'd recommend this room to anyone visiting Vancouver and would love to stay here again if I find myself back there.
Once again I enjoyed my month long stay at this convenient location. Lots of info about Vancouver from many books in this guest room and from Peter himself. The bathroom is almost private as usually nobody else stays on this floor.
Perfect place to stay. Very safe neighborhood, five minute walk to sky train. Lots of privacy.
The room is clean, and the house is conveniently located close to train.. and as other reviews Peter is very knowledgeable about the city. Will definitely come back if we are going to Vancouver again!
