We really recommend this place!
We were in 3 couples friends that were traveling for the first time in Provence and we found in the house of Chris and Marie the perfect combination of privacy and support! and They are very friendly!
The house is very good equipped, the localization is perfect (with car) and the place very beautiful!
From the house we could explore big part of Provence.
Marie and Christian, thanks for sharing your lovely place with us!
We very much enjoyed our stay in Avignon, particularly the beautiful and very well equipped guest-house/grounds. There was an abundance of thoughtfulness shown by the hosts throughout our visit e.g. kitchen and bathroom stocked with all essentials including an excellent bottle wine, which made us all feel very welcome indeed.
The hospitality and assistance with local information from the hosts enabled us to make the most of our time there which was greatly appreciated. We would certainly recommend staying at this wonderful place and may well so do ourselves again at some point in the future.
Thanks again Christian and Maria!
We stayed with Christian and Marie for 4 nights and loved the renovated stable and the village of Villeneuve Les Avignon.
They greeted us warmly, and the restaurant recommendations were very helpful. It was very easy to get around on the local bus service into Avignon.
For any families staying with Christian and Marie, the home was very roomy, our kids loved the pool and for a special outing visit the Delphine and her ponies across the road.
Thanks again Christian and Marie!
We had a wonderful 8-night stay at this lovely house in village of Villeneuve Les Avignon. We were 3 adults and a 16th month toddler. The house looks exactly like the pictures so if you like what you see you won’t be disappointed at all. Marie and Christian welcome us with a bottle of wine and bread upon our arrival and provided us with great restaurant recommendations. Marie and Christian left for their vacation/holiday the day after we arrived but they made sure to check on us from time to time to ensure we were OK--they are very caring and welcoming hosts. The house is close to everything you will need and it’s ideally located to explore Provence. A bus stop to go to Avignon is a block away from the house. A 5-minute walk takes you to Villeneuve Les Avignon center where you can find restaurants, cafes, ATM machines, grocery stores, bakery, butcher shops and everything you will need for a great vacation with friendly and helpful locals. On Thursdays there is a nice farmers market in the parking lot just outside the house—everything was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this rental property for its great location, great hosts and spectacular surroundings!
We had a very enjoyable two-week stay at the house. Christian & Marie were very kind, welcoming, and helpful in every respect, inviting us to join them for a glass or two of wine on more than one occasion. The house is very comfortable, with all modern appliances, and the pool was a big hit with our kids. The town of Villeneuve is a quiet and classy antidote to the hub-bub of Avignon, with a good range of eateries, bakery, outdoor market etc. Christian & Marie have a wealth of local knowledge, and can make recommendations about places to visit in the region, the best wines, restaurants etc. Nothing was too much trouble. A fantastic holiday. We'd definitely go back.
We spent 2 lovely weeks at the restored stables with 2teenagers and my college son. Christian and Marie were so responsive and caring, never making us feel hesitant to ask for assistance. We had some medical issues while there and both went out of their way to help, going so far as to make my son an appointment with their doctor and insisting on accompanying us to the doctor visit. Their property is a beautiful period estate with the stable house and a small cottage. The property is very safe, automatic lights on the exterior areas and a metal security gate enclose the home. The village is adorable, we went there often for supplies, breakfast croissants and dinners. The village is a 5 minute walk and has a small grocery store, pharmacy and post office. This property is a good base to visit all of southern France, being within 1 hour of many sites historic and cultural. We saw a lot; Roman ruins, villages, orchards and beach areas. If you stay here you will be very well looked after while respecting your privacy. Bon voyage!
Book NOW! Christian's house is incredible. The house is beautiful and has everything you could want...and more. The house has four bedrooms all with plenty of space. The house is modern and wonderfully decorated. The location is spectacular. You are at the foot of the abbey and walls of the old city. The city center is within walking distance and it is a pleasant walk to the old city of Avignon. The best part of the house is Christian and Marie. They are absolutely fantastic. They welcomed us to their home and into their lives. They invited us for pre-dinner drinks and snacks. We talked while sitting in their lovely garden. They are gracious hosts and will help in every situation. They were available to give us directions or suggestions of what to visit. I wish I could go back now! Do not hesitate. We had the best experience!
We had a great week in Villeneuve-les-Avignon thanks to Marie and Christian. They were fabulous hosts in an ideal setting. Their restaurant recommendations were great, the town is so interesting, the market days right outside our gates were wonderful. The photos are exactly like the experience but without the sounds and smells of Provence that make everything so magical.
What do I say? I am a writer and ex-banker, travelled all over the world and stayed at the best properties. I'd compare Christian's apartment to one of my best stays ever. It is a fabulous property, unique in its history and beautifully done up inside to make your stay comfortable. It is a big house, with its private garden in a place just a 15min bus ride away from avignon city centre (and that's a good thing, as the city centre is crowded). there's a small village market nearby, a great fort worth visiting right up the hill and just provence loveliness all around. I'd come here again, and again and again. The hosts are lovely - gave us wine so many times, and even invited us for drinks in their own garden. It's straight out of the 'the good year', that russell crowe movie. Go for it!
We stayed a week in May, 2013. The 3 bedroom house in Villeneuve les Avignon was comfortable and location was convenient to most of the must see sites in Avignon-Provence. There were 5 adults in our party and the inside of the house was spacious enough for us not to be falling over each other. The living room, dining area and kitchen are well appointed. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an extra toilet in the laundry room. The bedrooms are very basic, and so were the amenities. Make sure that you bring shampoo and bath gel. There were no extra sheets or bath towels provided though I am sure that had we requested we could have got extras. What was most appreciated was the washing machine and a drying room for those days when the weather was inclement. An extra drying rack would have helped. The kitchen appliances are excellent tho we did have a challenge with the induction stove top as we are not familiar with the operation of it The hosts, Marie and Christian were very kind to welcome us with a bottle of wine and bread upon our arrival. During the course of our stay both our hosts presented us with bottles of wine and invitations to visit with them. Unfortunately, we spent the days sightseeing and did not arrive back till late so had to decline their gracious invitations and a chance to interact with them. We did not have a chance to enjoy the provence garden either. You have to make time for that and dine al fresco in the garden,We were sorry that the pool was still closed, usually till June of each year Christian and Marie were always on hand to help us with our needs and to replenish basic cleaning and kitchen supplies. I recommend them and the house highly, and want to say that if you stay you must make the effort to just enjoy the house and its offerings. On the day of our departure, Christian guided us onto the freeway to Nice. Thank you once again, Christian and Marie. Also kudos to AirBnb. Will definitely use them to help us with vacation rentals.
Oh Sheila, you had so many things to do that you did not see there are FOUR rooms in the house !!!! We forgive you since you really visited a maximum of places during your stay and we can understand people who enjoy sightseeing in Provence !! If the swimming pool was closed it was due to the unusual cold spring this year, now that the weather has become back to normal it is indeed opened..
