About this listing
Our one bed apartment is ideal for singles or couples. It is perfect for those wanting an inner city experience but not in the CBD. We find lots of people choose the destination because of proximity to relatives or friends and also the variety of very good cafes & pubs.
Comfortable secure flat in interesting converted Historic Brickworks in Brunswick. Close to Sydney Road, lots of pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants, plenty of public transport in every direction and on the correct side of the city for the airport.
Brunswick has more than it's fair share of Melbourne's best eateries and the location is extremely well served by public transport. Buses stop at the front door which you can jump on if you want to get to Sydney Road or connect you to wherever you are headed, St Kilda Beach included. Two train stations are a 10 minute walk with a 15 minute ride to the CBD. It is a 2 minute walk to trams taking you to Melbourne Zoo and Melbourne University and the CBD.
For our guests convenience we have provided MYKI cards for public transport use around Zone 1. If you use them just top them up at any Post Office or Seven 11 so that future guests can also benefit. They are in the information folder.
The complex is large, interesting and still growing. It abuts a terrific park with a walking/jogging track, which is across the road from a large series of sports fields; so plenty of green space for your morning jog or evening stroll.
The apartment is cosy, modern and very comfortable for two. It has great heating for Melbourne winters and portable cooling available for summer. The bedroom has a double bed and we have comfortable bedding for the couch if required. We can also make available a double airbed.
The kitchen is fully appointed for when you want to cook for yourself with pots and pans and roastings trays. There is a coffee machine for an early morning coffee or hot chocolate or if you like your smoothies check the cupboard to the left of the oven for the hand held blender. This cupboard also houses a sandwich maker for easy "late home" snacks.
The apartment is one of four behind a security gate which gives you a great feeling of security. In fine weather you can leave the door open and enjoy the fresh air from the potted garden through the screen door.
Brunswick is very multicultural and generally safe and sits on the northern edge of the city neighbouring Carlton, Parkville, Fitzroy and Coburg. It is an extremely diverse area only 5 kms from the CBD.
We recommend that you check out the Guidebook which has plenty of local information and recommendations for our favourites!
Guests have full access to everything in the flat. We do not live there and nothing is off limits.
Interaction with Guests
We have email communication from first inquiry. Either myself or a member of our family have telephone contact upon quests arrival in Melbourne and we arrange to meet personally at the apartment with the keys. We are very happy to hear at any time from our guests.
Our neighbourhood is very eclectic and diverse and even though it is gentrifying it still retains it's working class, migrant and student base. Lots of old factories have been converted to residences as is usual in large cities now.
It is easy to get to any area of Melbourne by public transport or as is more usual, by car. Lots of bike tracks if you know where to look and public bike hire is available . Check your Melbourne website.

Thank you Julie for making my parents feel at home on their recent trip to Melbourne. They loved the apartment, and they were really impressed with how clean and stylish it was. This was an extremely positive first experience using Air Bnb, and we will definitely be using this listing again in the future! - Kristy
Pottery Court is a very well presented and comfortable apartment.
And its in a great location.
Julie was excellent to deal with, very prompt in her responses and very helpful.
Would definitely recommend it.
My husband and I had a wonderful week's stay at Pottery Court! Julie and her family were very friendly, communicative and helpful. The apartment is cosy, immaculately clean and has all the amenities you will need. Really appreciated the additional touches of leaving a few items in the pantry for use. The location is great - walking distance to trams that will take you into the CBD. Julie left a great number of resources about the area which were also very handy. Would highly recommend!
My daughters and I thought that Pottery court was very clean, very comfortable and lovely and homely. It is well appointed and In a quiet location. We will definitely come again. Thankyou.
This is the second time we have stayed at Pottery Court and on both occasions we found it to be clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is in a great location and the host is always welcoming. We will certainly book it again.
Thank you Julie for your hospitality.
This was our first experience with airbnb and we loved it. The apartment was very easy to get to (we were driving) and Julie showed us around and was very helpful. The apartment is perfect for a couple with everything that you need. It was also lovely and warm as the weather had turned cold. The position it is in makes it very quiet but easy to walk to the tram or cafes and pubs on Sydney Road.
About the Host, Julie
My husband Ian and I are fortunate to live in country Victoria and have an apartment close to our children and grandchildren in inner city Brunswick. We are able to be near the kids and take advantage of all the fantastic cafes restaurants and pubs that surround us and just 5 kms from the CBD. We also love Australian Rules Football and Horse Racing and have the easiest access to public transport or a short drive to get to stadiums and racecourses. Travelling is also a passion and we are close to Tullamarine Freeway for quick access to the airport. We love our country home but regularly make the two-hour trip to enjoy our city pad. When we can't use it we love to think that others can have good use of it.We have just returned from a fantastic overseas trip using Airbnb all through Europe and the UK. We can highly recommend the experience we had wonderful hosts and properties right in the middle of the action that were perfect for our needs. Airbnb really works!!
