  • A huge compound full of lovely trees and flowers that somehow manages to feel quite personal and private regardless of the number of rooms. The swimming pool is really nice. Our room was a bit sparse and echo-y, but comfortable. There's lots of hot water - a real plus in Mexico!
Some nice touches, like the books available in the palapa lobby.
Despite being on AirBnB, this is very much a hotel/guesthouse, so don't expect much interaction with the staff, other than the necessities.
Breakfast was good, but we thought the menu available during the rest of the day was poor value - much better to eat in town if you are able.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Macan che Bed and Breakfast. The room was clean, surrounded by a beautiful garden. We were served a lovely breakfast in the morning. The walk to town was about 15 minutes with interesting things to see along the way. Thank you for allowing our dog, Bentley to be there and for letting us park our motorcycles in the secure area.

  • I stayed a week to get the full experience. It takes that long to soak in the town. It is a small town lively with a non-touristy feel; yet, full of culture and history.

It feels like a gated jungle nestled in small Mexican town--a secret garden. Every room is its own cottage. The flux of other traveler provides some interesting conversation during breakfast in the grass roof covered lobby. There was a large range of travelers including many families and couples, and those from: Europe, North America, and others from Latin America. Most stayed a night or two.

The accommodation are comfortable with all the required modern luxuries like: safety, hot water, air conditioning, and clean linens. The sound of nature mixed with sounds of the town provide a unique backdrop.

I look forward to staying again.

  • Hotel Macan Che was an oasis in the middle of Izamal, was eally great place to stay. The rooms had air conditioning (which after a week in the heat mexico was a welcomed luxury) - The theme rooms are ace, the bathroom had a powerful shower was was again a welcomed pleasure. The rooms all have a porch with hammock and sofa, and you can order drinks and take them back to your porch was really great. The pool is much better than the photos. The best thing about Hotel Macan Che was the complementary breakfast, literally the best Bacon i have ever tasted! I Highly recommend it.

  • We stayed for one night and liked it very much. The staff was helpful (city map, places to eat, sights, supermarkets, ...). We decided to eat Diner at macanché, which was a good choice. Great breakfast in the morning and just a few minutes from the city center. We enjoyed to chill in the pool and talk to the parrot and the cats. Wifi worked perfectly in the lobby. Definitely a place to recommend.

  • Great place! Wish we had stayed more than 1 night! The room was as described, very cute (we were in the Mayan room) and clean.. The lobby palapa is gorgeous and a welcoming space. The wifi in the lobby worked great. There were 2 very friendly cats who actually jumped onto my lap while I was in a hammock! We don't take very long showers, but there seemed to be plenty of hot water.
    The included breakfast was great!

  • Loved this place. My wife called it the Jungle Oasis. Very warm, welcoming, and relaxing. We stayed for one night, but wish we had made plans to stay longer in Izamal. The staff and food were excellent. Food is cooked by the chef just for you, so you have to give them an hour heads up, but its great to know its fresh. Veggy options are plentiful. We did not need to eat anywhere else in Izamal.

My wife had a mani-pedi done and loved it, one of the best she has had a for a while and very affordable. I noticed another guest got a massage and was also very happy.

This is like being out in a camp like retreat (though with showers and a comfy bed) in the middle of a charming town and region.

  • My girlfriend and I arrived in Izamal with a taxi. We landed in this beautiful little place. It's a little piece of jungle in the city. Each room is actually a little cottage. It's cute, pretty and just a few steps from downtown.
At the office, the staff was generous and kind, they answered all our questions and were very helpful and respectful.
The day we left, they even woke up before 6AM to serve us the breakfast!
