Off the beaten path for sure. Nice and quite but not as isolated as what it seems. There are other homes very close if that's not what you're looking for.
Beautiful little Balinese cottage which gives you a true feeling of living like a local in Ubud. Very peaceful and the staff were very helpful with arranging anything I needed. I suggest getting a scooter as it is a fair walk into the centre of Ubud. A true gem! Thanks and I will be definitely recommending this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Ubud.
I stay 2 days in ubud, the place was really great and the staff very nice and helpful to organise driver the volcano hiking and the driver to the airport. I try the banana pancakes and it was amazing!
I recommand this place!
I had a lovely time at the Sanctuary! My cottage was an absolute beauty and everything is as they look in the photos. I love that I had a kitchen with a stove, fridge, all the basics you would need, and my own drinking water supply. Because I would always leave the cottage early before breakfast starts (7:30 am), the caretakers were kind enough to always leave some fruits, yogurt and muesli in my fridge every night so I have something to eat early in the morning. There is also free WIFI in the compound which you can access through your cottage. Sanctuary is a 15-minute walk to ARMA Museum, in case you are wondering how far from town (Jl Hanoman area) it is. Thanks David, Brenda, and all the staff! I will surely come back ;)
Great place to stay a little south of the main Ubud area! Picturesque, away from the noise of the road
This is a great place to set up as your base for travel around the Ubud area. It's nicely tucked away from the bustle and noise. The walk into the town is not the most pleasant, however, so be sure to get a scooter. Otherwise, highly recommended!

David, my husband was a set designer and furniture designer for the movie industry in Los Angeles for thirty years and worked with the tops in the industry....Steven Spielberg, Jodie Foster, Robert Redford, Bruce Springsteen and many more. His built the Captains Chair for Star Trek Insurrection and had the most "ordered" bed in TV history from the TV hit, "Mad about You".
He designed furniture for many top Restaurants in Los Angeles from the Saddle Peak Lodge in Malibu to Malibu Adobe with Ali McGraw. His resume is extensive and his client list is long....Billy Crystal, David Hasselhof, Arnold Schwarzanegger to Keenan Wayans.
He has translated that skill into building ten amazingly different houses since he's come to Bali. Our house is amazing and you will see why he is so in demand!
I have a variety of interests that keep me busy. I have spent years doing spiritual growth work and now work with others with addiction and codependency issues. I love this work and the chance to give back what I was taught. I've been an artist my whole life so our home is filled with original art ( mine and others) and I have an awesome studio..Anyone that loves to paint will fall in love here. My latest passion is teaching Zumba, What a blast!
As you can see, we are both loving our life and filling the hours manifesting our dreams. We both are creative artists and love to explore the world and the people in it.
Since we've been in Bali we've been taking in South East Asia. We love Vietnam, and Thailand for their amazing cuisine.
We are frequently traveling, so we are sorry that we don't get to meet all our guests, but we leave you in the hands of an amazing staff and manager, Eko and Sakming, who will be your contact people.
