We do have a Golden Retriever named Lady who'll want to play with you but she can remain completely separated from The Little Nest if you're not a dog person. Sorry, but because we have a number of regular guests who have pet allergies, we Do Not Allow Pets in The Little Nest. However because we love dogs and have had a lot of requests to bring small dogs To The Little Nest, we created another adorable Airbnb a few doors away where small, quiet, well behaved dogs are welcome. It is in an apartment home we own and manage a few doors from our home here in Historic Oakwood in Downtown Raleigh. It is called "Sally's Suite," ane we do allow small, sweet, well behaved with our prior knowledge and permission.
Our goal is for you to feel cozy like in a Bed and Breakfast, but anonymous like in a hotel. We'll be around to help you and would love to meet you if you need us, but we want you to feel like you have you own space so we won't bug you.
We live up front here in the Pullen Starks House. There is Kay walking down the sidewalk. Where's Waldo?:)
What a charming place...if anything it exceeded our expectations. Neat, tidy, well decorated and outfitted with everything we needed. The owners were present but respectful of our privacy. And did I mention the location? In a stunningly beautiful historic district, but steps away from the restaurants and the business of downtown and the capital. We'll be coming to Raleigh again soon as our son has moved there, and we only hope the Little Nest will be available. this place fulfills the promise of AirBNB.
The Little Nest was wonderful and so are Eddie & Kay! Their apartment was sparkling clean, and we instantly felt comfortable and at home. Eddie & Kay were always a text or phone call away and thoughtfully offered information, help and friendship while giving us our space and freedom to enjoy their lovely place. The location was terrific -- convenient to downtown (& walkable) and in a beautiful, historic neighborhood. Parking was easy. We look forward to returning!
Very quaint and in a beautiful neighborhood. A little bit of a walk to restaurants and bars downtown but overall an enjoyable stay. We didn't spend much time in the little neat but it was adequate for our short visit to Raleigh. Take note the little nest is above a space that is occasionally used by the owners.
What a great place in a quiet spot right near downtown! The apartment is super comfortable and just right for 2 people. So many things are within walking distance. Kay and Eddie are no-fuss and really easy to work with. We loved the smooth check-in and - out. Wonderful. Thanks!
Easy going Guests make Great Hosts :) These guys were great. We're happy they enjoyed our approach to hosting... "cozy like a B&B but anonymous like a hotel"
We like to let our guests enjoy our apartment, the neighborhood and our downtown without bugging them all the time. We are always happy to have great guests like y'all and hope you'll come again soon.
I stayed at "The Little Nest" for eight nights. I was in town on business. The listing for the apartment was accurate. It was very clean. "The Little Nest" offered a full kitchen, sitting area, small out door porch and partitioned bedroom area. The bathroom was updated and a nice shower/tub. It is small and only large enough for 1 person. I arrived late my first day and had sent my hosts a text message. Eddie responded with my instructions & said their were places to eat/drink nearby. I never heard from the hosts or saw them my entire stay. I think I saw Kay and she waved. Parking was available on the street. The apartment had cable, wifi, lots of maps of the area and books to read and a tv. Everything I needed for my stay. The area is perfect. I lived in Raleigh for 30 years and know it well. This area, Historical Oakwood, is hopping with wonderful pubs, cafes and things to do, all within walking distance. "The Little Nest" is close to downtown. I believe the space is rented below "The Little Nest." I could hear someone talking and moving around. He was not disrupting or loud. The temperature inside the apartment was great. There is a window unit for air and a small plug in heater for heat.
My first experience with airbnb and I was blown away! I would highly recommend The Little Nest to anyone needing to stay in downtown Raleigh.
Great place, very cozy and warm all through the blizzard this (website hidden) and music system were great and gave me a lovely place to relax during a very busy work trip.
Only downside is the lack of sound insulation between upstairs and downstairs.
I would stay here again.

About the Host, Eddie And Kay
We're very young at heart boomers. We love to laugh. We also love travel, good wine, good music, good conversation, good food and interesting people. We have lived in Raleigh's oldest and coolest Historic District for over 25 years and have watched, enjoyed and participated in the resurgence of Downtown Raleigh. We love sharing Raleigh's treasures with friends and guests. You'll love The Little Nest as your Downtown Raleigh get away.
We've owned The William Gaskins House on the Neuse River in Downtown New Bern for over 14 years. It is right in the middle of the coolest Historic District in NC's colonial capital. It is a fun casual and very enjoyable place for your visit with family, friends or business associates.
We've owned and operated Gray Court apartments with great friends Phil and Pam Neari for over 12 years, as we watched Downtown Winston Salem come back to life. By 2012, Downtown W-S had become very alive with Great Culture, Music, Art, Food, Beverages and Fun. So we decided it was past time to have a get away place there so we could enjoy the fun activities which are going on there constantly. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy all these great activities and more at our Downtown Winston Salem Getaway. You'll love the 5 minute walk to everywhere in Downtown Winston Salem from the Winston-Salem Dash baseball stadium to great restaurants, bars, galleries, shopping and more!
Our philosophy as hosts is to provide "great getaways which are cozy like a bed and breakfast, but anonymous like a hotel". While we respect our guests privacy, we're more than willing to offer suggestions on fun things to enjoy and the "insider scoop" on the best of the best to see and do in our towns. We really love to get to know the real local culture from locals when we travel and enjoy offering the same opportunity to our guests. So by all means call us if you need us or would like to visit. Otherwise we'll give you your space.
