We do have a Golden Retriever named Lady who'll want to play with you but she can remain completely separated from The Little Nest if you're not a dog person. Sorry, but because we have a number of regular guests who have pet allergies, we Do Not Allow Pets in The Little Nest. However because we love dogs and have had a lot of requests to bring small dogs To The Little Nest, we created another adorable Airbnb a few doors away where small, quiet, well behaved dogs are welcome. It is in an apartment home we own and manage a few doors from our home here in Historic Oakwood in Downtown Raleigh. It is called "Sally's Suite," ane we do allow small, sweet, well behaved with our prior knowledge and permission.
Our goal is for you to feel cozy like in a Bed and Breakfast, but anonymous like in a hotel. We'll be around to help you and would love to meet you if you need us, but we want you to feel like you have you own space so we won't bug you.
We live up front here in the Pullen Starks House. There is Kay walking down the sidewalk. Where's Waldo?:)
I was only in Raleigh for 2 nights visiting my 24 year old son but I wanted to stay longer at The Little Nest! Absolutely perfect for my little getaway and I had everything I needed. The small things were noticed, especially the microwave popcorn when I needed a midnight snack. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped and overall I couldn't have been happier. Eddie and Kay were great hosts and I appreciated the privacy. The neighborhood was beautiful and I didn't even need a car to get around. The homes were amazing and safe to walk anywhere. When I head back to Raleigh I will definitely stay here again! Thanks for the perfect stay!
My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at The Little Nest and had such a wonderful time! The Nest is a darling little place quietly nestled into the beautiful Oakwood neighborhood of Raleigh. We absolutely loved it and were in walking distance to all the downtown action and a number of great shops and restaurants. Eddie and Kay were the sweetest hosts, going above and beyond to give us the inside scoop on local favorites and things to do and see. They were even so kind as to connect us with their daughter, who graciously shared a few recos for Raleigh gems that we got to check out. I highly recommend this sweet little spot; it feels like home.
Eddie and Kay were amazing ambassadors of Raleigh. They gave us lots of tips and contacts. There home was clean and cute. Communications were very good. The location is in the historical area, so very beautiful and quiet. The little best has everything you need.
This is a beautiful home in a charming location! My daughter and I stayed there for a week and it became a wonderful retreat for the both of us. The neighborhood is quiet and tranquil allowing me to write for hours on end. The home itself is tastefully furnished with everything one needs and a fully equipped, inviting kitchen. For an extended stay like ours, we could not have asked for anything more. Our hosts were there whenever we needed them, providing immediate support in dealing with unexpected situations. We would not hesitate to return to the Little Nest!
My hosts were excellent. They really did leave a key for me and left me to myself. I didnt realize that my apartment was above their work office so thats worth noting. It was a very quiet and relaxing space. The apartment was cute, clean, small and cozy. They are fantastic hosts.
We had such a great time at the Little Nest! Eddie and Kay are such welcoming hosts and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We stayed for a whole month as we needed to be in Raleigh for that time and we were able to live comfortably and happily in the cozy space. Kay and Eddie although they truly do not invade your space they were always available for help if there was anything needed. Eddie even helped us use their grill! We will always look fondly on our month spent in Raleigh at the Little Nest and will be forever grateful for the hospitality of this kind couple,
Thanks Eddie and Kay, we loved our visit to Raleigh and The Little Nest was perfect for our stay! It was great location in a beautiful, historic neighborhood, charming rooms and very comfortable. The location was terrific and we were able to walk downtown in 15 minutes. We are glad that we decided to stay with you versus the typical hotel. Thanks for your hospitality and a wonderful stay!

About the Host, Eddie And Kay
We're very young at heart boomers. We love to laugh. We also love travel, good wine, good music, good conversation, good food and interesting people. We have lived in Raleigh's oldest and coolest Historic District for over 25 years and have watched, enjoyed and participated in the resurgence of Downtown Raleigh. We love sharing Raleigh's treasures with friends and guests. You'll love The Little Nest as your Downtown Raleigh get away.
We've owned The William Gaskins House on the Neuse River in Downtown New Bern for over 14 years. It is right in the middle of the coolest Historic District in NC's colonial capital. It is a fun casual and very enjoyable place for your visit with family, friends or business associates.
We've owned and operated Gray Court apartments with great friends Phil and Pam Neari for over 12 years, as we watched Downtown Winston Salem come back to life. By 2012, Downtown W-S had become very alive with Great Culture, Music, Art, Food, Beverages and Fun. So we decided it was past time to have a get away place there so we could enjoy the fun activities which are going on there constantly. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy all these great activities and more at our Downtown Winston Salem Getaway. You'll love the 5 minute walk to everywhere in Downtown Winston Salem from the Winston-Salem Dash baseball stadium to great restaurants, bars, galleries, shopping and more!
Our philosophy as hosts is to provide "great getaways which are cozy like a bed and breakfast, but anonymous like a hotel". While we respect our guests privacy, we're more than willing to offer suggestions on fun things to enjoy and the "insider scoop" on the best of the best to see and do in our towns. We really love to get to know the real local culture from locals when we travel and enjoy offering the same opportunity to our guests. So by all means call us if you need us or would like to visit. Otherwise we'll give you your space.
Live with Gratitude and Live for Today!
