Healing Our Mined Ecology was established in 2019 in a magical place called Nevada City. As San Francisco transformed over the past decade, I somehow lost that sense of belonging that had first beckoned me to the city. I set off to find my way HOME.
Growing up in a small mountain town before, I left for San Francisco at the first chance I had. While there, I studied film and psychology at San Francisco State, and later I went on to get a Masters In Journalism at UC Berkeley.
During the decade-and-a-half I called The City home, I witnessed my sense of belonging unravel. After a course of exploration and introspection, I set out to create a large-scale eco-village called Symbio.City, a 5,000-person enclave built on the principles of permaculture, regeneration and celebration.
While that audacious vision never quite got off the ground, I discovered the town of Nevada City somewhere along the way and decided to scale down this vision for an eco-city into an intimate village called HOME.
