About This Listing
Our peaceful property has the best of both worlds with sea & bush views. Your self contained accommodation is separate and has everything you need for some time out. Our spa is always ready for weary travellers and we are waiting to welcome you! We are GLBTI friendly.
Welcome to Lakes Entrance and our little piece of paradise.
Our quirky B and B is self contained with internet facilities, a new pillowtop mattress, own verandah, own bathroom with shower/bath, toilet and washing machine, dinner available by gourmet cook if required. There are also cooking facilities in the room which is heated and cooled with a reverse cycle air conditioner. Our gorgeous accommodation is all on one level with no stairs and is wheel chair and walking stick friendly. We love people from all nationalities visiting us...it's what enriches our lives and we love to get to know you all.
We have a great ocean view, are very friendly, love meeting new people and have a lot of local knowledge to ensure your stay with us is as comfortable as possible. Just ask and if we can help we will. We also have a large permanently heated fully maintained spa ready for weary guests at the end of a long drive...and yes you can take a (plastic) glass of wine of whatever in with you.
The accommodation is separate and away from the house, ensuring you have peace and quiet (although we can't guarantee the birds won't wake you). Lakes Entrance is a seaside resort that is fairly quiet but comes alive in summer and Easter.
We have the train and bus that comes to Lakes Entrance and we can pick you up from the bus stop. Please let us know...it's no problem.
I do like to cook and can provide a meal for you (at pub prices) and would love a little notice to enable me to ensure I have gorgeous local ingredients available. A cooked breakfast of egg, bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomato with juice, coffee, and pot set yoghurt with blueberries is approximately $15ph or there's pancakes with ricotta and fruit...to name a few examples. Dinner might be local fish or seafood bouillabaisse or perhaps a taste of bush tucker (unique Australian flavours) in either fish, chicken or beef with a unique vegetarian meal with perhaps home-made pasta for those of you who don't like meat..let me know your tastes and I can cater to them. Dessert will be something yummy and as locally sourced as I can manage all for $35-45 per person depending on the meal provided.
I am also able to put together a picnic with a little notice which you might like to take with you exploring our beautiful countryside and beaches...plz give me a little time so I can make it extra special for you won't you?
There are lots of attractions in the area, boating, fishing and much more. We are 3-4 hours east from Melbourne and look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Most things are provided such as linen, towels, cutlery, crockery, coffee, tea, and lots of little extras from my own commercial kitchen or pick your own herbs and vegetables (seasonal) from the garden.
While the unit is really for 1-2 people, there is a double couch that might be suitable for a child if needed.
Check out is 11am or flexible especially if we have no one else coming but please consider that we do have to clean the room at some stage for our next guests. At this time of year in view of the amount of bookings it would be great if you could check out at 11am and in after 2pm. Just so I can make it clean and sparkly for the next guest.
We are GLBTI friendly.
Look forward to meeting you soon.
Your own self contained apartment with separate attached bathroom, deck, bush views and spa, but we are usually home to lend a hand or answer questions.
Interaction with Guests
We can interact or not depending on your needs. We take great pride in being intuitive enough to see when company is required or your own space is more important and try to make sure that happens.
Our neighbourhood is coastal and we have lots of that to explore...pack a picnic (well I can help with that) and go see as much as you can...walk to the entrance itself to see seals...or check out the koala's on Raymond Island...kangaroos abound (pardon the pun) at Buchan caves...and there's so much more we could tell you about.
We are not in town so a car is fairly useful here. There is a bus however that goes into town about 2km away. We can help you with lifts and timetables if required...no problems.
Other Things to Note
Just ask...we're really friendly.
We are not a rules kind of household but just ask you to respect our home as we would yours...its our little piece of paradise. We are happy to have you sleep in but please check with us if there are any guests following you the same day you leave so we have time to make the place as clean and welcoming as we did for you. There s no smoking in the room please but you can smoke outside and there are suitable containers provided so Gypsy doesn't eat the buts. Pets are up for discussion and we are quite open to them so feel free to talk to us.
Fabulous place! It had everything (probably more than) we need. Nina's place was easy to find and very accessible. Her attention to details simply amazing. Would definitely stay at hers when we visit Lakes Entrance again!
Nina was a very friendly host and awaited us with a warm welcome. The dinner she cooked for us on the first night was delicious. However, we found it to be a bit pricy for an airbnb-homecooked-meal.
The room was nice and cozy and we found a great nights sleep.
Hi Daniela, I am sorry you were disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. We had been in that morning, vacuumed, swept and mopped the floors with detol so I am not sure what else we could have done to ensure our standards met yours. We don't normally have babies that crawl around on the floor out there and we don't so it's not usually a problem. As for the meal, ingredients bought advocates in country area are pricy in Australia and you had home made pasta with beautiful seafood. You also requested a bowl of steamed vegetable for your little one which we provided AND a dessert for the two of you. So I think $70 was a very reasonable cost, the prices are pub prices and are mentioned as that on the Airbnb website.. I had also left you many extras in the room such as chocolate chip cookies, home, made granola and a few other extras. We believe we went out of our way to ensure your stay was a good one and I am sorry that we didn't exceed expectations as we alway try to do, I hope the ensuing stays in Airbnb are up to your obviously high standards and that your travels don't disappoint. Thank you so much for staying with us and we genuinely hope your time in Australia is wonderful. We really enjoyed meeting Bela and would have like the chance to get to know you more.
Nina and Graham were the perfect hosts. They were friendly, informative and keen to help out if we needed anything at all. The room was set back from the main house, providing us with privacy for the weekend and was cosy, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Thank you both for a great weekend (and great dinner recommendations at the tavern!) Hopefully the three of us will be back in the future!
Our stay with Nina was just what was needed.
The space was clean and well equipt, the bed super comfy and Nina makes a killer fruit cake!
Thanks for having us at such short notice Nina.
Nina is a fabulous host. She waited up for us to arrive safely at Lakes Entrance at nightfall, and she welcomed us to her home and sanctuary. Our living space was beyond all expectations. It felt like we were staying at a designer's showcase. It was cosy, bright, cheerful, alive with lots of details and touches -- and above all, private, with all amenities smartly integrated. Did we mention her homemade granola and chocolate chip cookies were divine as well? :) Thank you, Nina!
What a lovely place to stay! Everything was catered for so beautifully from the home made biscuits and granola to the breakfast left for us in the morning. The flat was warmly furnished with everything you could need. Nina and Graeme were both very welcoming. Thank you!
Nina made us feel very welcome on our arrival. She showed us to the accommodation which was so warm after arriving late on a cool day. We loved that there was music on in the room as we walked in. It was very cosy and roomy and very comfortable. We enjoyed eating our breakfast outside on the outdoor deck, and the fresh eggs form your chickens was a treat, (not to mentione those beautiful home-made biscuits) :) We enjoyed getting to know Nina and Graeme over a cuppa the next morning. Really great stay and we recommend Nina's place.

About the Host, Nina
Hi my name is Nina and together with my husband Graeme would like to offer our self contained unit for travellers of all ages and backgrounds. I am a graphic designer, running my own business at home in beautiful Lakes Entrance. We think we live in a kind of paradise and would love people to come and visit...My hubby Graeme is a paramedic/ambulance officer employed in our town, scuba instructor/diver and has a Master 5 in boats also. We love having the world come to us and welcome the chance to get to know people from all backgrounds...
We moved to Lakes Entrance about 4 years ago and have spent time sorting out the home we bought here to allow us to have guests. I like to cook fairly inspirational meals..and can provide that too should you like to sample my cooking. I will do the odd cooking workshop if you would like for a small cost. Would be happy to sort out a picnic if you would like to go off exploring...Just let me know in advance so I can put together something yummy for you.
There is a large spa (always hot for the weary traveler) if you would like a soak. Our self contained ground floor unit has easy access for people in wheelchairs if required. We are both friendly people and like to talk to people or allow privacy when needed. I love to grow vegetables, the chooks keeps me busy and I am involved in the community around Lakes Entrance. We have a dog called Gypsy and a cat called Pea.
I work for myself and do websites, graphic design work, some catering and anything else that comes along...especially food and cuisine orientated. I am passionate about sourcing local produce if possible, and love to work with herbs and spices from the Middle East or Asia. We have traveled a little and look forward to doing more in the not too distant future, when Graeme leaves the ambulance service. We are fairly casual people with an interest in food, sustainability, music, books and fun. When traveling we like to get to know our hosts and find out the more unusual things to do in the locale. Love to find out about the town's history and get an understanding of our surroundings. Things I can't live without....hmmm variety, good food, a glass of wine at the end of the day, travel and of course my hubby Graeme. We look forward to welcoming you and hearing all about you and where you come from and what brings you to our part of the world..
