About this listing
Our peaceful property has the best of both worlds with sea & bush views. Your self contained accommodation is separate and has everything you need for some time out. Our spa is always ready for weary travellers and we are waiting to welcome you! We are GLBTI friendly.
Welcome to Lakes Entrance and our little piece of paradise. We love meeting new people.
Our quirky B and B is a peaceful and self contained with internet facilities, a new pillowtop mattress, own verandah, own bathroom with shower/bath, toilet and washing machine and kitchen, though dinner available by gourmet cook if required. There are also other cooking facilities in the room which is heated and cooled with a reverse cycle air conditioner. Our gorgeous accommodation is all on one level with no stairs and is wheel chair and walking stick friendly. We love people from all nationalities visiting us...it's what enriches our lives and we love to get to know you all, especially those who understand the ethos of Airbnb (that this is our home and we delight in sharing it with you.
We have a great ocean view from the front of the property, are very friendly, though know you like your own space, and have a lot of local knowledge to ensure your stay with us is as comfortable as possible. Just ask and if we can help, we will. We also have a large permanently heated fully maintained spa ready for weary guests at the end of a long drive...and yes you can take a (plastic) glass of wine of whatever in with you.
The accommodation is separate and away from the house, ensuring you have peace and quiet (although we can't guarantee the birds won't wake you). Lakes Entrance is a seaside resort that is fairly quiet but comes alive in summer and Easter.
We have the train and bus that comes to Lakes Entrance and we can pick you up from the bus stop. Please let us know...it's no problem.
A continental brekky is provided BUT I do like to cook and can provide a meal for you (at pub prices) and would love a little notice to enable me to ensure I have gorgeous local ingredients available. A cooked breakfast of egg, bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomato with juice, coffee, and pot set yoghurt with blueberries is approximately $15ph or there's pancakes with ricotta and fruit...to name a few examples.
And speaking of dinner I am happy to put together a sumptuous meal that might be local fish or seafood bouillabaisse or perhaps a taste of bush tucker (unique Australian flavours) in either fish, chicken or beef with a unique vegetarian meal with perhaps home-made pasta for those of you who don't like meat..let me know your tastes and I can cater to them. I am happy to provide some menu choices if you contact me beforehand. Dessert will be something yummy and as locally sourced as I can manage all for $35-45 per person depending on the meal provided.
I am also able to put together a picnic with a little notice which you might like to take with you exploring our beautiful countryside and beaches...please give me a little time so I can make it extra special for you won't you?
There are lots of attractions in the area, boating, fishing and much more. We are 3-4 hours east from Melbourne and look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Most things are provided such as linen, towels, cutlery, crockery, coffee, tea, and lots of little extras from my own commercial kitchen or pick your own herbs and vegetables (seasonal) from the garden.
While the unit is really for 1-2 people, there is a double couch that might be suitable for a child if needed.
Check out is 11am or flexible especially if we have no one else coming but please consider that we do have to clean the room at some stage for our next guests. At this time of year in view of the amount of bookings it would be great if you could check out at 11am and in after 2pm. Just so I can make it clean and sparkly for the next guest.
We are GLBTI friendly.
Look forward to meeting you soon.
Your own self contained apartment (away from our house) with separate attached bathroom, kitchen, deck, bush views and spa, but we are usually home to lend a hand or answer questions. Please note the spa is not in the room.
Interaction with Guests
We can interact or not depending on your needs. We take great pride in being intuitive enough to see when company is required or your own space is more important and try to make sure that happens.
Our neighbourhood is coastal and we have lots of that to explore...pack a picnic (well I can help with that) and go see as much as you can...walk to the entrance itself to see seals...or check out the koala's on Raymond Island...kangaroos abound (pardon the pun) at Buchan caves...and there's so much more we could tell you about.
We are not in town so a car is fairly useful here. There is a bus however that goes into town about 2km away. We can help you with lifts and timetables if required...no problems.
Other Things to Note
Just ask...we're really friendly. We do have a old dog called Gypsy and a older cat called Pea (we didn't name him really :) )
We are not a rules kind of household but just ask you to respect our home as we would yours...its our little piece of paradise. We are happy to have you sleep in but please check with us if there are any guests following you the same day you leave so we have time to make the place as clean and welcoming as we did for you. There s no smoking in the room please but you can smoke outside and there are suitable containers provided so Gypsy doesn't eat the buts. Pets are up for discussion and we are quite open to them so feel free to talk to us. We also do not encourage crabs or other shellfish to be cooked in the room. Plz feel free to discuss this with us. The room is really for couples or two friends travelling together...perhaps with a small child/infant but not suitable for large families.
From Dec 01, 2015 - Feb 29, 2016 the minimum stay is 1 night.

Nina and graeme were fantastic hosts. They really made the extra effort to make us feel at home. Even waiting to welcome us even though we were running much later then expected. The room was impeccably beautiful and the fresh cookies, lemon curd and eggs were to die for. We really wished we could have stayed longer. But we definitely hope to make the again.
Absolutely fantastic place for couples.. cozy, beautiful, full of love, relaxed, peaceful. Great location, great people. Felt live in every bit of place. Don't even bother looking at other places to stay. Hosts are absolutely amazing people. Definitely going back in summer and staying here. Food is must to try. Recommended to all our friends. We are so happy that we we stayed here and miss it so much. Can't wait for our next visit to lakes nd definitely staying at lovely ocean view B&B.
Nina's place is a warm, comfortable oasis with all the amenities you could possibly need. Nina cooked us an amazing seafood dinner and a yummy dessert, after which we soaked in the lovely spa & slept soundly in the very comfortable bed. Just sorry we didn't get to stay longer. I could not recommend her place more highly :)
This is an outstanding location, The accommodation is big quiet and private, there is all you ever want and loads more. Now the real gem here is NIna and Graeme, they are exceptionally interesting and kind. Nina will provide fantastic homemade food and amenities, that made us wish we stayed longer. About the Host, Nina
Hi my name is Nina and together with my husband Graeme would like to offer our self contained unit for travellers of all ages and backgrounds. I am a graphic designer, running my own business at home in beautiful Lakes Entrance. We think we live in a kind of paradise and would love people to come and visit...My hubby Graeme is a paramedic/ambulance officer employed in our town, scuba instructor/diver and has a Master 5 in boats also. We love having the world come to us and welcome the chance to get to know people from all backgrounds...
We moved to Lakes Entrance about 4 years ago and have spent time sorting out the home we bought here to allow us to have guests. I like to cook fairly inspirational meals..and can provide that too should you like to sample my cooking. I will do the odd cooking workshop if you would like for a small cost. Would be happy to sort out a picnic if you would like to go off exploring...Just let me know in advance so I can put together something yummy for you.
There is a large spa (always hot for the weary traveler) if you would like a soak. Our self contained ground floor unit has easy access for people in wheelchairs if required. We are both friendly people and like to talk to people or allow privacy when needed. I love to grow vegetables, the chooks keeps me busy and I am involved in the community around Lakes Entrance. We have a dog called Gypsy and a cat called Pea.
I work for myself and do websites, graphic design work, some catering and anything else that comes along...especially food and cuisine orientated. I am passionate about sourcing local produce if possible, and love to work with herbs and spices from the Middle East or Asia. We have traveled a little and look forward to doing more in the not too distant future, when Graeme leaves the ambulance service. We are fairly casual people with an interest in food, sustainability, music, books and fun. When traveling we like to get to know our hosts and find out the more unusual things to do in the locale. Love to find out about the town's history and get an understanding of our surroundings. Things I can't live without....hmmm variety, good food, a glass of wine at the end of the day, travel and of course my hubby Graeme. We look forward to welcoming you and hearing all about you and where you come from and what brings you to our part of the world..
