The Space

Beautiful house Itapua beach

Vila Urquiza was built by New York based artist Nicolas Urquiza.

Located in a beautiful area on the city of Salvador, between the National Abaete Park, and one of the most beautiful beaches of Salvador, Itapua.
Where famous Brazilian artists as Vinicious De Moraes, Jorge Amado, Carlos Bastos, Calazans Neto in between others found their inspiration in it, building their fantastic homes.

The area is surrounded by magic, history, and a peaceful neighborhood mixed of "old Bahian Aristocracy" and "Fisherman Village"...
Vila Urquiza was years ago, home of a religious temple, where people from all over town would come to dance, pray, sing and celebrate the joy of life.

The house keeps the vibe of the place, simple, elegant, with vibrant colors and walls that safeguard the privacy of our guests...
Decorated with elements from local artisans, and a fun collection of international art work...

Enjoy your trip...

  • Decorated with great taste. Ideal for those want to feel the vibe and imagine how Buenos Aires looked in its golden era. Love it!

  • A fantastic opportunity to stay in a truly unique home. High ceilings, stucco, an eclectic mix of art and vintage furniture. Plus - views over the lively Avenue del Mayo. Highly recommended.

  • We loved staying at Nicolas's place. It's a gorgeous aparment.
4+ meters to the ceiling, beautiful furniture and interesting art pieces.
Easy and very friendly check in and out by Nina who is always available and a sweetheart.
So all in all a great stay in a truly stunning flat.

  • We really enjoyed our time in this apartment in BsAs. It was spacious and thoughtfully decorated. We loved the high ceilings and some of the vintage furniture pieces. The location was convenient to the hospital we studied at and was central enough to visit the sights on the weekends. The lack of external windows (only frosted glass to the courtyard) made me feel a little closed in, but didn't bother my partner at all. The kitchen was perfectly functional and we cooked quite a bit.

  • My experience at this apartment has been amazing. It's a great place for young people opened-minded and with good energy. The room is big and with a lot of natural light. Sometimes the radiator wasn't working very well that wasn't a big deal. Adrian the roommate is a very nice guy, easy going and a very creative person, I can even say that after 2 months he has become a friend of mine. I had the opportunity to meet Nicolás and he is very friendly too, I have nothing to say but good things of both of them. The location of the apartment is good since it is 5 min walking from an express metro station that can take you to the downtown in 20 min. The neighborhood is ok, I have never had a problem there. There is a Fairway market (very nice market for fresh food) 15 min walking distance. I will definitely stay in this room if I can next time I'll visit NYC.

  • I stayed here 2 weeks with my mother and our stay at Nicolas's place was great. Nicolas was a super conscientious host in every way, and the flat detail and spec for the value was awesome. For those wanting a very authentic and historical backdrop, the flat is a landmark site and situated in neighborhood with lots of charm and an easy taxi ride to Palermo or Recoletta. Can only recommend!

  • The apartment is in a good location, just behind the Congreso palace 50m from the underground, shops and restaurant.
All the amenities were in working conditions, the shower cabin is a bit too tight but still ok.
Reply time with queries should improve; before and during my stay was slow, I got the full address of the apt. via text message just few minutes before arriving in the Congreso area, when I asked for it more than 24 hours in advance, same to confirm my early check-out.
    Beside that a good stay.
