Beautiful Light Berlin Studio

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Bötzowstraße, Berlin, Berlin 10407, Germany

The Space

Our lovely studio is recently renovated, in a turn-of-the-century building in former East Berlin, just a short walk from Volksparkfriedrichshain. It's a wonderful holiday spot, but also a great place to research/write.

Approximately 40 m², it has a fully equipped kitchen, wooden floors, high ceilings, a double bed, and a sofa.

The bathroom has a shower, washbasin, toilet and washing machine.

Our apartment is on the third floor, there is no elevator.

A small balcony looks out onto the sunny courtyard. You can take your coffee here in warm weather!

We have wireless internet, a printer/scanner and an old Mac Powerbook laptop.

Transportation to the Staatsbibliothek on the 200 Bus only 20 minutes (stop: Potsdamerplatz) and to the new Grimm-Zentrum in only 15 mintutes (stop: Staatsoper).

No smoking indoors, please!

The apartment is located in an attractive part of Prenzlauerberg known as the Bötzowviertel. It is a quiet area, more residential area with cobbled streets, lovely bakeries, cafes, restaurants, boutiques and book shops just out the door. The beautiful city park Volksparkfriedrichshain is just two streets away and offers a luxurious space for jogging, picnics and cultural events (an open air cinema in the summer). (There are also tennis and volley ball courts and a climbing rock.)

From our apartment you are rarely more than 20 minutes from anywhere you might want to go. The 200 bus, which runs along the park, stops 5 minutes from the flat and you can take it direct to Alexanderplatz a major transportation hub. The M4 Tram serves the same function, but also takes you to the Hackescher Markt.

The 200 is a major tourism bus. From Alexanderplatz it continues along Unter den Linden, past the state opera to Potsdamer Platz, the Kulturforum, Tiergarten and on to the Zoo and zoological gardens.

We are also only minutes (7 on the M10) from Berlin's famous Mauerpark, where there is a huge flea market on Sunday's in all seasons. The M10 will also take you south-east to Friedrichshain/Kreuzberg (Warschauerstr.) in 10 minutes.

Bikes can also be hired nearby.

You are very well connected while in a very calm part of the city!

  • This studio apartment was w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l. It's located in a quiet and private area of Prenzlauer Berg, with a handfull of wonderful cafes in the neighborhood. It's near a hub for pubic transportation so you can get anywhere in Berlin, fast. Ben was super helpful through e-mail and made directions and instructions very clear. The studio itself is quiet, calm, and perfect for a relaxing vacation. My only advice for others' who may be interested in this studio is to be able to speak a little bit of basic German for when you get your keys for the apartment. Had a little confusion for a hot second, but everything worked out perfectly fine :) Thanks again!

  • My stay in Ben's place was a fantastic experience. Easy to reach and in a beautiful and quiet area, the apartment's very cozy and tidy at the same time, with big windows (facing inside the courtyard, they however offer lots of light and a pleasant view) and a warm furnishing, it feels as if you were in your own home. It has all the comfort one could want, and I'd say there's plenty of space for couples. It is also conveniently located: close to shops, lively areas with cool restaurants and bars and Alexanderplatz.
Ben has been of great help to us, answering promptly to all of my questions and providing many interesting informations about what to do in the surroundings.
I would definitely recommend Ben's place for a comfortable and inspiring stay!

  • The apartment was quiet and very spacious. It was exactly as the photos suggest, "light". It was perfect for someone who likes to read, & I appreciated the study desk area for planning day trip's with the map.
The area had good vegan food options from the bio markt two blocks over(6 minutes walk). The kitchen had everything for making your own meals.
I attended yoga and sewing classes on the same street. The locals were really friendly and helpful. People spoke a deeper level of conversation which suited me.
The people and the lifestyle was very convenient. I enjoyed the option of walking into town (20 minutes) or using public transport. There was a huge park at the end of the street for going running. The area was calm and peaceful.

  • Had a really comortable stay here. The apartment was quiet, light and airy. Prenzlauer Berg is a leafy, sleepy, safe neighbourhood, but a little family orientated for us. Was a nice place to come home to though and the apartment is close to loads of attractions, transport, cafes/restaurants and amenities.

  • My partner and I were at Ben's studio for a week and we enjoyed it immensely, we love how quiet it was as well as the position so easy to get anywhere you wanted to go. Coming home at the end of the day was exactly like coming home, the bed was so comfortable and big we felt refreshed every morning. We would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and lovely apartment to stay in. Ben was a great he helped us out with everything that was needed. Thank you Ben for helping to make our time in Berlin amazing.

  • Ben was a great host--very responsive and considerate. The apartment is light and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay!

  • I and my fiancee had a great time in Ben's apartment for a longer stay--almost two months--while we were on a summer study abroad program in Berlin. The apartment was pleasantly furnished, and the kitchen was well provisioned with pots, pans, utensils, etc. Just as good as the apartment, though, was the neighborhood. There are plenty of cafe's and restaurants within easy walking distance (A Cabana, a Portuguese place on Hufelandstr. was our favorite with outstanding fish dishes).

Prenzlauer Berg, particularly the part that Ben's apartment is in, is simply the nicest part of Berlin that we saw--visiting the apartments of other students in our program, who had went with program-assigned housing, we always commented to each other on how glad we were to be in our neighborhood instead.

  • I loved staying in Ben's apartment. It's homely, comfortable, and filled with light. It's close to everything - take the M4 tram to Alexanderplatz, or the M10 to Kreuzberg. Both tram stops are just down the road. Berlin's most beautiful park is right next door. There are tons of great restaurants in the area, as well as cafes for groceries, and a laundromat. The neighborhood is quiet, but vibrant. I stayed for a month and was very sad to leave. Ben is a great host and gets back to you very quickly. I will definitely book it next time.

  • We spent a wonderful week in Ben's apartment, which is quiet and luminous, in a wonderful neighbourhood. Nothing but superlatives!
Ben gives you full of advices, it's very easy and plesant to communicate with him.
I would love to come back again very soon!

  • I stayed for almost two weeks in this impeccable apartment on my very first trip to Berlin. I could not have been happier -- the space is clean, bright, and quiet, and just steps away from amazing restaurants, cafes, shopping, and transportation to other parts of the city. I truly felt safe and at home, and walked home from the subway even at nighttime. Ben was incredibly kind and accommodating when the dates of my travel changed, and made arrangements so that I could extend my trip since I had such a good time. He gave me excellent recommendations for where to go, what to see and do, and in general was very organized, responsive, and welcoming. I could not have hoped for a better experience, and will certainly stay again when I return to Berlin. Thank you so much Ben!

We're a grad-student couple based in the US working towards phds in art history and literature respectively. We have a close relationship to Berlin and have lived (and studied) there on and off for the past 6 years. We love the cultural diversity it offers and its non-stop embrace of contemporary (and not-so-contemporary) art. We would be happy to offer you any advice on museums, theatres or excursions!
