Private bedroom and workspace in a large loft on Smith st, between Bergen and Dean. This is hands down the nicest neighborhood in Brooklyn, with beautiful brownstone blocks, excellent coffee, good restaurants, cool bars, convenient subway service to Manhattan and other Brooklyn neighborhoods. It's literally above the Bergen stop on the F/G, a few blocks from the A/C at Hoyt/Schemerhorn, and the 2/3/4/5 at Borough Hall. Bicycle over the bridge to the Lower East Side in fifteen minutes (ten if you're awesome).
In addition to the bedroom, you get your own desk in the main space - perfect if you need a place to get some work done while you're here. High speed internet (of course), and a large deck overlooking trees (a view stretching down the long block of brownstone gardens).
Need a bicycle to get around? We'll rent you one.
Some suggestions, steps from the door (airbnb won't let me include links, so search away):

The list goes on.
I stayed at David's place during my summer internship. David proved to be an amazing host and a great person. Same can be said about the other two people living in the apartment. Everybody was respectful, nice, social and fun to be around with.
The apartment is spacious and has an access to the beautiful balcony which is perfect for parties, barbecuing and get-togethers.
As for the location itself, it's hard to find a better place living in Brooklyn. The laundromat is located right underneath the apartment, on the first floor. An entrance to the subway is literally around the cornet (a 10 minute track to Lower Manhattan). Smith Street is full of great places to eat out and many convenience stores are in close proximity.
Overall, a great apartment and great people. I recommend David's place to anybody!
