The Space

New very efficient air conditioning units installed. Our place is great for kids, with crib, easy stroller access + utensils (we just stayed here with a 2 year old and it went surpisingly well).

Come enjoy our Cannes apartment. Its 5 minutes to the heart of Cannes (where the locals go) and 15 minute walk to the Palais des Festival where all the conferences and film festivals are. You can smell the Mediterranean and hear the seagulls from our large deck that receives direct sunlight a few hours a day.
Both large rooms open onto the large private terrace that overlooks a large art deco courtyard with fountain. There is a nice table on the patio for warm summer meals. Come with a sense of humor because the building is classic art deco movie set and borderlines on kitchy. We have all the creature comforts you need: large flat screen TV, wifi, ipod docking station, Nespresso, washer and dryer. Only missing a dishwasher.

The main bedroom has a very comfortable king size mattress. The sofa bed in the living room isn't very comfortable for 2, but will do the trick. Perfect for children.
The two rooms are nicely separated by 2 doors so two couples can enjoy privacy at night.
There is plenty of desk space for work and wifi.

The walk to the sandy beach (as shown in the images) is under 3 minutes. I grew up spending my summers on these beaches, they are the best non-private beaches in Cannes. You can have a perfect day on the sand with a towel without expensive private beach cost. Night swimming is also fantastic. Even in the winter months you can enjoy a stroll on the beach most nights with a thin jacket. Multi-million dollar Yatchs are a few minutes away, but you don't feel overwhelmed by the glitz in this area. Boats leave for the island "Ils De lerins" right down the road. Tourist free Theoule sur mer -our favorite red rock snorkeling and diving area is just 20 minutes down the coast. buses to Monte Carlo, St Tropez etc are 5 minute walk.

We are available via email for any questions, and are very familiar with the region. During the summer months we are local, otherwise we live in San Francisco. Our manager Jean Jaque -who handles greeting and keys and cleaning is available for 24/7 checkin. If you need anything he can help. In addition he can pick you up at the airport for a fraction of the cost of a taxi.

Please come with a sense of humor, the building is borderline cheezy but you cant beat the neighborhood (well the actual street is not my favorite, but 1 block in most directions is truly fantastic). There are hundreds of restaurants and shops at your doorstep. I highly recommend sunset beach picnics.

There is a stove but no oven.

Its very baby friendly and we can make arrangements for a crib and high chair if you plan to stay 5 days or more.

  • We were very happy to stay in this apartment. It was event better than expected. Great location, beautiful place, fully equiped and everything was just very good. I recommend the place and hopefully will come back herr next year!

  • We had a great stay at Natacha's place. We were in Cannes for work and so needed to be close to the Palais. It was around 7 minutes fast walk from the apartment to the Palais! We really liked the location which was really close to the beach. Natacha was travelling just before we arrived so it was a little difficult to reach her but once we'd made contact with Jean-Jacques all went well. He picked us up from the airport for a very reasonable rate and anytime we had any questions, he was very quick to respond and pop over if he needed to. The apartment itself had everything we needed including outside spce, washing machine, internet connection and iron.

  • We spent a month in this apt with 2 children (1 and 5 years old).We got the key without any problem inspite of the fact that we arrived late at (website hidden) was clean in the apt. The kitchen is vere well equiped and in the flat you will find everything you need for long staying. The house is really very nice and the location is great. 3 minutes walk from the beach 10 minutes from the market. There is a good car rent not far from the house.

  • This small apartment has some nice decorative elements and is well located; convenient to shopping, beach and public transportation. It is well equipped with washer/dryer, wifi, dishes and cooking items (no oven). We had no problems meeting Chantal for the key. I don't think the owner is getting her money's worth from the cleaning staff. The apartment needs a thorough cleaning inside and on the patio.

  • I messed up the days of my stay, and this very nice person was surprisingly accommodating. I never ended up staying, but I really appreciate the flexibility.

  • A terrible arrival experience. The key was nowhere to be found despite the instructions. It was a late flight and the owner was informed of the filght details a month in advance. It was impossible to reach anyone within the first half an hour. When somebody finally came, they were not super helpful since they didn't have a key either. At passed midnight I could finally enter the apartment, which wasn't properly cleaned and there were toys in the middle of the floor and a wet towel (recently used?) in the toilet. The purpose of travel was business and Cannes was fully booked, so it was not possible to look for another place to stay, but the feeling of spending the night there was not at all good. The day after, solutions were finally given: the key and clean towels. The owner is really nice, but she lives in the USA and her trust-worthy people didn't seem that reliable. The owner made a discount of USD60 (not even a 10%!) for the "technical difficulties". Unfortunately, NOT a good experience.

    Response from Natacha:

We actually had a break in from the previous house cleaner that we had just fired (after the apartment had been prepared for Eva's client Ivan). This was a sad experience for everyone. Specially since we have been renting 2 apartments on airbnb for over a year will dozens of positive reviews. We have since changed the locks, hired a very responsive turnover company and can assure that there will not be any problems moving forward.
To be fair the guest arrived late in the night to begin with (11:30pm) and although its very unpleasant to wait after long travels, the new response team was able to let him in within 30 minutes.

  • As long as you are clear on a handover of keys to the apartment, I am sure that anyone who stays here will have a nice time
We didn't have the best start to our experience. I emailed the host the night before leaving for our trip to ask whether we'd be met by someone or if she'd leave the keys somewhere. But didn't hear back. We arrived in Cannes at 11pm with a tired 5 year old and very hungry 2 month old. Unfortunately no keys and no answer when we called the host or her contact in Cannes.
It was only after a couple of frantic calls with AirBnB that the matter was sorted and we finally managed to get in to the apartment.
The apartment is cute and well equipped in a very nice block, albeit a little shabby. Unfortunately the sheets on the sofa bed weren't clean, we had to change them, and the bedsheets on ours were damp. We thought it was because the place was damp and we were worried about staying there. However it turned out the cleaner had actually laid dampsheets on the bed.
The next day Natascha called. She was very sweet and apologised for the problems. Unfortunately we also had a power cut on the electrics while there and had to call her to sort it out. Again she was very helpful and called out an engineer.
Overall we had a pleasant stay. The kitchen was well equipped, there's a nice dining and living area as well as a patio. The location within the old town is fabulous.
Natacha herself is very nice. It was just a pity it was let down by the terrible start. Arriving in Cannes late at night unable to contact the host or get in to the flat. Natacha let us know that she was changing her cleaner because of the problems.

  • Wonderful flat and amazing location! Apartment was exactly what I needed, felt right at home. Just a short walk to the Palais de Festivals. Natacha was also very responsive and helpful. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Scientist (biologist) and photographer. (email hidden) I've been coming to spend my summers in the south of France since I was a baby, and am very familiar with all the different ways to enjoy the region (as a kid, party/debauchery teenager and now a mom). I currently live most of the year in San Francisco and can appreciate glitzy glamor and grungy fun.
