Welcome to Little Apple A-Frame | The Star on the Rim!

Built in 1959 and dubbed "The Star on the Rim" by the original owner (the Maitre'd at The Brown Derby in H'wood), this quintessential mountain A-frame sits on nearly 1/2 acre in Running Springs, CA.

Thoughtfully renovated with our guest experience in mind, you will enjoy the crisp mountain air and breathtaking sunsets that the California mountains offer in this inspiring, well-appointed A-frame cabin!

The space
Prepare to fall in LOVE with Little Apple A-Frame! Nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear, our cozy mountain cabin has undergone a complete and loving renovation with detailed attention.

Upon entering you are greeted with the glorious view of oak and pine trees as you look over the canyon through floor-to-ceiling windows. The open room has all new, comfortable furnishings and a brand new wood-burning insert in the original stone fireplace.

The white, bright kitchen is equipped with European modern appliances including a Bertazzoni induction range and Bosch custom-paneled fridge and dishwasher. We have a Vita-mix for smoothie and matcha lovers, and coffee lovers have your choice of a Fellows pour-over set-up, a Technivorm Moccamaster drip coffee maker or individual french press.

There are two super comfy beds: one standard king in the primary bedroom and a queen up in the loft. Both are outfitted with the coziest organic cotton bedding and delicious pillows inspiring a good night's sleep and sweet dreams.

There is one freshly remodeled full bathroom with all new everything!

We have a Smart TV and books in the bedroom and plenty of board games and puzzles stored up in the loft.

Lots of spots to just be in the mountains and chill... the property is surrounded by large mature Oak and Pine trees, and there is a relaxing hammock for two offering great afternoon naps.

We ARE NOT suitable for children under 12 - our 1959 staircase has open, floating steps and no railing.

NO photo shoots or filming on the premises without the owner's written permission and signed agreement.

Special Winter Notes:

ALL VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO CARRY CHAINS UP THE MOUNTAIN!

There is off-street parking in the driveway for three cars ONLY. Our driveway is steep and just beyond a blind curve. When there is a snowstorm, we will have the driveway cleared for your arrival. Our street is plowed by the county; however, you will need to shovel the berm pushed into the driveway. Shovels are provided and it is best to do this first thing in the morning before it turns to ice!

We have forced heat and a brand new Regency wood burning insert. Fireplace instructions are provided in our house manual. If you are not experienced in starting fires in a wood-burning stove - we ask that you do not attempt to do so. We DO NOT provide firewood.
