Historic Convent has been renovated to accomodate world travelers and athletes. Downtown with restaurants and 24 hour grocery. Convenient to the thruway for easy travel Buffalo to NYC and Boston
The Nunnery was home to St. Mary's teaching Nuns for over 75 years. The Nun's moved out and we renovated the entire space. It's really very beautiful now. The bedrooms are small but comfortable with brand new IKEA beds, mattress and even IKEA linens. Did I mention there are 20 rooms!
We have wifi here, two TV rooms with lounge chairs and tables. Almost everything is walking distance. The library, courthouse, elementary school, grocery, restaurants.....
Interaction with Guests
I try to always be here when you arrive. We will run into each other because I live here! If I'm out of town my friend Michelle will greet you and show you how to enter and exit.
I spend some of my time in Orlando, I've lived in Boston, Jacksonville Fl, the thing that shocked me the most about Little Falls is how safe it is. The people here are always friendly and helpful and this small city is adorable. I love it here.
Birnie bus service runs in a circle from syracuse, utica, little falls, albany and back again all day. If your taking the train the closest stop is Utica, then birnie bus to little falls. Best to travel by car. We are only minutes off the New York State Thruway.
Other Things to Note
Summer time we are overrun with college baseball players. The Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs. They are a great deal of fun and all guests receive tickets to attend the games. The players feel very special when hostel guests come out to the game.
Please no smoking or drugs in this hostel. Smoking can be done outside on the Lanai. Treat others with respect and you will receive respect in return. Seems kind of silly saying these things because everyone i've had here has been respectful and non-smokers.
I was late arriving and had been unable to contact Amanda to let her know, the concern showed was appreciated. I was shown my room and the rest of the Nunnery
Amanda wasn't there but she made sure someone was there to greet us late at night. The room was warm and cozy with a great space heater. The bathroom was too. Hot water for bathing. We loved the character of the building and decor. I needed ice packs for a hip injury and that was not a problem. The rooms are on the 3rd floor. It could be a problem for someone with joint disabilities that has trouble with stairs. Little Falls is quaint. Ann Street diner is wonderful. There is a canal Locke there and rocks to climb on. It's a fun place.
Highly recommend you stay here.
My experience at the nunnery was wonderful. The atmosphere was tranquil and delightful. Amanda was a wonderful host, better then we could have ever expected. This is a must see destination with an adorable bike trail, shops, and river. Come check out the coffee shop and rock climbers. The pups are very friendly and may stay the night in your bed if let them. The house is very clean and spacious. I felt very at home. I will come back again soon!
I had a lovely stay at the Nunnery with Amanda and Jim. They are very welcoming and accommodating. The Inn is really nice and recently renovated so everything was clean and well kept. It is within walking distance of Main Street with shops and restaurants / bars, a cinema and a really nice grocery store. The city is located along the Mohawk River and the Erie Canal where I walked and saw rock climbers. Will definitely stay there again. A definitive recommend.

I'm mother to two girls 17 and 21. Jim is my life partner and he and I own and operate a hostel in Upstate New York. We've been spending summers in New York for 3 years now. Did I mention we have 3 maltepoo puppies?! Romeo, Juliet and Mercutio. I like to knit, crochet, walk, bike. I love architecture, art and photography. This has been our best season ever at the hostel in Little Falls NY with guests from Australia, Canada, Cali, Ohio, Tenn, etc.... the list is long. I can't remember how many people have said "It's the best hostel I've ever stayed in". Huge complement I must say!
I live here and I love it, the best part is meeting amazing people.
I forgot to mention my partner and I own a decorative art company for 15 years now, We work with Venetian Plaster, glaze applications, faux leather, etc...
