This hammock and tent shelter was built to share the experience of cooking outside, having a campfire to roast marshmallows and staring at stars in the Chattahoochee National Forest in the foothills of the Appalachians. Panther Creek and Tallulah Falls are among the popular hiking destinations within 5 miles. The Chattooga River and Trail nearby are also popular amongst backpackers and kayakers. Bring your favorite camping gear and enjoy a rustic experience!

The space
Guests may use the campsite space and are welcome to walk on the gravel paths on the property. All tents must fit on the 11.5’ x 8’ platform of the shelter because sometimes the ground will be too soft after a hard rain. Please be mindful of other guests staying in other accommodations. We also live in the main houses on the property.

Dogs are welcome but limited to 1 or 2. You may walk your dog(s) but please keep them on a leash and pick up after them and dispose of their waste properly to avoid contaminating ponds and natural springs. Also, no excessive barking is allowed to ensure a relaxing stay for all guests on the property.

You have your own bathroom in the bathhouse just a short walk away. Since it’s your designated restroom you can keep your belongings in there for the duration of your stay. Shampoo/conditioner, soap, toilet paper, and towels are provided in the bathroom. There is a map to the bathroom in the binder at your site.

I love living in the foothills of the Appalachians because it’s away from the city and you can escape into nature. I want others to have the ability to experience the quiet of the country and bring their kids to learn to appreciate nature.
There is a variety of wildlife and birds that make their home in this forest. Please watch them from a distance and also make sure you be on the lookout for ticks.

Safety is always a priority when in the woods, so please enjoy yourself but as with any wilderness activity, do so at your own risk. Be mindful of falling limbs and acorns and flying insects. I am an avid hiker and have to be aware myself when spending time in the woods.

There is no wifi available and cell service is hit or miss, but hopefully that is why you came out here!

I absolutely love to travel! Experiencing new places through the eyes of a local is indescribably the best way to see the world! I love adventuring and spending time outdoors in the rustic wilderness and hiking with my dog, Gracie!
