we spent a month at this apartment and it was fabulous! so convenient. classy and welcoming. Jeanne was a wonderful host and took an immediate care for everything we needed. we felt like home and that's the most important thing. the location in shadyside is terrific, there's a bus right out side to PITT, CMU and UPMC. more buses close by. we would definitely recommend this apartment for long stays.
My husband and I stayed at this place for our wedding. The apartment is beautiful and we really enjoyed staying there. I gave the space such a low rating, though, because after we left we received several inchoate and angry messages from the host demanding that we pay an extra $150 for unclearly specified "cleaning fees" (in addition to the $60 cleaning fee that the apartment already charges). We tried politely requesting clarification as to what prompted these fines, but could not get any clear account of the expenses. We were quite surprised by this request (especially since we had cleaned a little ourselves before leaving) so we contacted Airbnb who encouraged us to reject the charges if we thought they were unfair and that they would get in contact with us again if the host had any proof that we left the apartment in such a state to demand such a high fee. We never heard about it again, so clearly the host did not have any such evidence. We caution any potential guests of this host to take pictures of how you left the apartment just in case you too receive this unwelcome surprise upon departure.
My husband and I loved this apartment! It was so convenient to everything in town--shopping, restaurants, parks, etc. Beautiful location and nicely appointed. We lacked for nothing, and our contact, Jeanne, was as helpful as could be. If we had a question, she had the answer! We would rent this apartment again without hesitation!
