About this listing
Peaceful, quiet, happy home. Big gardens, gazebo, and fire pit. Read a book, sit and relax. We'll leave you alone or share a bottle of wine- your choice. Bed is super comfy. Kids are welcome. We have more rooms if you want more than one space
Our home sits on two acres of woods. Down the street is a trail leading to the Monadnock Trail, Mt. Orient, and other great hiking. We can recommend swimming spots, cross country skiing, and good restaurants in the area. Or you are welcome to simply enjoy sitting in the garden gazebo.
We have wireless internet but it doesn't always work in the bedrooms. It always works at the kitchen counter and living room sofa and usually works in the gazebo.
Our sweet dog will stay out of your rooms but be available for petting and long walks. Happy pleasant dogs that would like to romp with our puppy are welcome. As of October 1, 2013 we will be taking care of our daughter's cat.
We are a gay friendly and kid friendly household. We've been through the college search process and the joy of moving kids in and out of college several times. We've searched for airbnb homes in the areas that our kids go to school in so we can avoid the hotel stress.
If you'd like to go to a formal gym, we are members in one about a mile away that we'll happily check you into as a guest. They have all the gym things and swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, and some good yoga classes.
We'll share our morning coffee and our homemade granola too! If the blueberries and raspberries are in season, you're welcome to pick right off the bush.
We are two hours west of Boston and three and a half hours drive from Manhattan.
Gazebo, beautiful gardens, pick your own raspberries and blueberries (in season)

Jordy has a beautiful place! My boyfriend and I only got to stay one night, but we'll definitely be back. Check in was very smooth, it was very well situated for access to Amherst, easy to find, but nicely set back. The gardens were lovely, morning birdsong and tasty fresh-picked raspberries...doesn't get any better than that! :D Thanks for an awesome stay!
The stay with Jordy was fabulous. The house was charming, and the bedroom/bathroom very clean and comfortable. Spending time at the fire pit among the garden was so relaxing. Extra bonus is that Jordy and Dave are super cool to chat with! Huge deal if you stay here!!
This place makes you feel at home. The room is beautiful, and clean, I really enjoyed waking up to the birds and green trees outside the window. Jordy and her family are just amazing, sweet humans, very helpful, sweet, intelligent. We couldn't have asked for better hosts.
Could not be more perfect if needing a place to stay while visiting UMass. Great to have 2 rooms since I was traveling with my nephew. Private setting surrounded by nature, comfortable beds, clean, inviting, and peaceful; a home with great energy and warmth. Enjoyed cuddling with Lyra the cat and sweet dog Lilly. Only got to stay 1 night but will certainly return if back in the Amherst area. Thank you Jordy and David for sharing your beautiful home with us!
Comfortable; relaxing and engaging host; great location for visiting Amherst.
This is our second time staying with Jordy and her family and we hope we will have the opportunity for more visits. Jordy and her family are wonderful hosts, warm, friendly and accommodating and their home is beautiful, relaxing, well appointed and graceful. They offer the perfect combination of privacy and friendly, stimulating companionship. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts.
Jordy and her family welcomed my daughter and me as though we were old friends they were happy to see. The part of their home where we stayed was spacious, lovely and had good privacy. The house overall is cozy and charming--a great advertisement for living in Amherst and environs.
About the Host, Jordy
My sister, husband, and good friend live in a duplex. I work in International Development and my sister is a physical therapist/gardener. We love to garden, sit in the gazebo, and cook. The house is quiet but we are friendly.
