Our apartment is clean and comfortable with its own entrance and garden outlook. It's ideal for one or two guests, and is close to shops, cafes, and the Surrey Hills train station.

Your clean and comfortable private space is on the ground floor area of our modern home and accommodates one or two guests. You'll have your own entrance, a living room with kitchenette, bedroom with queen size bed and plenty of cupboard space, and your own bathroom with shower and toilet - we supply soap, towels, a hairdryer and linen.
It’s a 3-minute walk to the Surrey Hills railway station - a train to Melbourne city takes 20 minutes. It's safe to travel home on the train from the city at night, so you'll have easy access to Melbourne's restaurants and night life. The train will also take you direct to Melbourne’s major sporting precincts - the MCG, Etihad Stadium, Rod Laver Arena at the tennis centre, the soccer and rugby stadiums. In the other direction, the train takes you direct to Victoria's iconic Puffing Billy steam train that departs from Belgrave daily.
It’s easy to find your way here from Melbourne Airport by train. Take the SkyBus from the airport to Southern Cross railway station and then a Belgrave, Lilydale or Blackburn line train to Surrey Hills station.
The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster and kettle, and there's also a barbecue available. We'll provide you with the basics for a light breakfast. After a tiring day of sightseeing you can unwind with a game of pool in your living room or watch TV or a DVD. Overhead fans will keep you cool in summer, and for winter there’s hydronic heating throughout. Should you require internet access, we can provide you with a 4G WiFi modem on a user-pays basis.
Interaction with Guests
We’re a well-travelled couple and have lived in Melbourne for most of our lives, so we can help you plan your stay and find your way around. Our living space and home office are upstairs from your rooms. Once we’ve helped you settle in, we'll respect your privacy but we’re available to answer any questions and make you feel welcome and ‘at home’ in our home.
We’re located behind the Surrey Hills shopping strip and close to the Surrey Hills station. You’ll find a bank, car hire, post office, a couple of bakeries, pharmacies and a number of cafes just a few minutes walk away. There's plenty of activity around the neighbourhood during the day but after business hours it’s very peaceful, safe and quiet.
Shopping and Restaurants
The cafes in our immediate neighbourhood serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and all day coffee and cake. There are a number of takeaway shops open in the evening and Thai and Chinese restaurants if you'd prefer to dine out close to home. A slightly longer walk will give you the options of Italian, Greek, more Thai and Chinese restaurants, and great fish and chips.
Just a couple of stations away from us are Camberwell and Box Hill shopping centres, both home to good shopping and a fantastic variety of restaurants. They also have clothing and gift shops, fresh food markets and large supermarkets.
As well as the nearby train service, a bus service is a 1-minute walk away and will take you to the huge Chadstone Shopping Centre - the fashion capital of Melbourne. And if you’re prepared to walk for 10 minutes to the tramline, you can take a tram through the city to Port Melbourne beach, a comfortable and inexpensive way to see interesting parts of Melbourne. All Melbourne’s tram, train and bus services are linked, so getting around on public transport is easy, paying all your fares with a Myki card, available at many outlets including railway stations.
If you're travelling by car, there is street parking nearby.
