Serene, peaceful and private get away. The downstairs to this beautiful home is reserved for the guests. The guests have their own separate outdoor entrance, their own bathroom, bedroom, kitchenette, and den.

The Space

Out in the country, but only 2 miles from I-5 and shopping.

House is located on a hill with an unobstructed view of hills, nature, trees, Battlecreek, and many birds. Peaceful and quiet. House is chunked into hill so upstairs is our personal space and downstairs is your private space. The view off the deck is beautiful. There is a comfortable queen bed in room,
TV and Wifi. See amenities.

The whole downstairs is yours to use. The upstairs is our
personal private space. A door at the bottom of the stairs
divides the spaces.

You will have your own private outside entrance, private bathroom. The mini-kitchen has refrigerator, microwave, toaster, hotwater, coffeemaker, etc. You get a bowl of fruit, coffee (you make), tea, milk, juice, oatmeal and cereal.

There is table with chairs and lounge chairs for you to use on your own private deck that is off the bedroom.

The Oregon coast, Portland and Cascade mountains are only an hour away. Lots of wineries in area, too. Brientenbush Hotsprings is 1.5 hours away.

We have two cats that may or may not visit you. That's Minnie and Max. We also have a door at bottom of stairs dividing
our private space from guests space.

We have wireless internet available.

We can accommodate 4+ people. The downstairs is 1,600 sq ft. There is a den when a comfortable couch and I have large sleeping pads which I can put bedding on, which can be moved to what ever room you want to put in.
2 people can be in main bedroom at $65/night and any extra after that will be $20/person.

The downstairs can be used for a retreat or meeting place.
The large yoga room is good for parties, workshops, etc.
I have table and chairs. Contact me for any inquiries.

We have wonderful spring well water.

Grocery store, restaurants are 2-3 miles away.
Downtown is about 4-5 miles.

Guest Access

The guest have access to the whole downstairs. The use of the upstairs kitchen can be arranged and the washer/dryer use too.

Interaction with Guests

I always try to greet the guests and answer any questions. I'm usually at home. Usually the guests just text me if they need anything.

The Neighborhood

We have a quiet, country neighborhood where deer walk by at time. You can hear the red-tailed hawks and the coyotes at night.

Getting around

Plenty of parking. There is a shuttle to our place from the Portland airport. Closest public transit is 2 miles. I can certainly give you a ride.

  • Debbie greet me as soon as I got there the first day. I was glad I followed her directions to get to the place which made finding it easy. There were printed directions in the room for the TV too. Everything was immaculate and convienent so it made staying there very comfortable and safe. Couldn't ask for more.

  • This BNB was lovely remote area away from the busy areas of Salem. Wonderful hospitality and pleasant reception. Would definitely return if the opportunity presents itself.

  • Glad I chose to stay here while in Salem. The quiet country setting, just south of the city, with a lovely view out the windows and from the deck allowed for a busy and productive work week. Generous hosts and living space. Highly recommended.

  • Wonderful place to stay. The entire lower floor is for the guest. Large private balcony/deck with great views. Very helpful and accommodating hosts. The apartment is very well equipped and stuffed. The house is a short drive (~10 min) from the downtown Salem, and is very close to Willamette Valley Vineyards, and a National Wildlife refuge.

  • It was a quiet and cute place in Salem. I booked the place with Debbie a day prior my arrival(my last minute planning), it was prompt respond and the place was ready to go by the time my boyfriend and I get there. Secluded environment, great view from the top of the hill, clean and neat inside, and lots of arty decoration. My favorite spot was sitting right next to the window, working on my laptop drinking some fresh grounded coffee Debbie provided. I would definitely come back in the future and would recommend to everyone.

  • Peace and quiet, with a view! And an adjacent fully equipped yoga studio, so you have no excuse not to practice when you are traveling. Debbie is a gracious host, and has attended to all the details for a most comfortable stay.

  • This place was fantastic and much more than I anticipated. Regretfully I did not get to spend as much time as I would have liked with Debbie since i was in town for Mom's Weekend at OSU, I will definitely return and hope to get to know her more as she is also an avid outdoorsman like myself and has much to offer those wanting to explore the beautiful Oregon territory! The place was magnificent and very private, clean, and comfortable.... 5 star accomodations in a safe and serene environment!! See you next time Debbie! Thank you!

  • 'Retreat' is the perfect word to describe Debbie's place. It was calm, peaceful, extremely clean, comfortable, and beautiful. I was attending a conference at the convention center and found it an ideal location to access downtown easily, yet be far enough away from town that it was nice and quiet. Debbie is a great communicator, very responsive. The space is huge with a comfortable bedroom that has a lovely deck with a beautiful view. There is also a very comfortable sitting room, for reading or doing work on a laptop. The bathroom was sparkling clean with good water pressure in the shower. For the mini-kitchen set-up, Debbie has thought of everything: coffee (that tastes good!), tea, cheese/crackers/fruit/oatmeal/cereal, mini fridge, microwave, hot plate, electric tea kettle. glassware, etc. I loved the yoga room! I had my own mat, but she has equipment there to use, too. It's lovely to do a sun salutation while facing a large window and well, the sun.

  • You would be hard pressed to find a lovelier place to stay in Salem. Debbie's home has all the comforts of home and then some. I slept like a lamb every night. It was very relaxing. The view from the deck outside the bedroom is gorgeous. Debbie is a very organized and friendly host.
