This is my home. Having to leave for work, I entrust it to travelers who want to live in Venice as Venetians do, far from the maddening crowd, in a quite neihborhood of small local shops and people who say hello from their windows. Treat it and enjoy it as if it was yours.
Half-way between St Mark’s and the Biennale Gardens, an area where Venice still is as it used to be, my flat is on the third floor of an old palazzo, acceded through a private courtyard. The flat is fully restored - it isn’t often so in Venice – yet it retains the warmth of old venetian houses: beamed ceilings in every room, timber floors and antique furnitures.
The kitchen-dining room is fully equipped, with a dishwasher and micro-wave oven. A corridor leads on the left to a living-room with two single beds-sofas which can be converted into a king-size bed, a table and book-shelves on two walls. The floor is the typical Venetian “terrazzo”, and the window overlooks the rooftops towards the bell tower of San Zaccaria. On the other side of the corridor a wardrobe and the main bathroom with large shower.
A short staircase leads to the upstair loft: large window over the rooftops, two skylights and a king-size bed which can be turned into two singles. The upstairs bathroom is equipped with a washing machine and all the appliances for drying and ironing. Central heating, air conditioning, wi-fi connection, fully equipped with sheets, blankets, towels.
Five minutes walk from the public transport stops “Arsenale” (line 1 via Grand Canal to the railway station and Piazzale Roma, or the beach at the Lido) and “Celestia” (lines 41 and 51, direct service in the same directions). Alilaguna, direct service to the airport, stops at “Fondamente Nuove”, ten minutes away.
In the neighbourhood a baker, a green-grocer, a butcher, a wine-shop and a large food supermarket, with delicatessen.
Warwick booked the accommodation for us, however we stayed in the apartment for 8 nights and are writing this review. Communication prior to our stay was excellent so we arrived confidently knowing exactly where to go. Enrico met us and walked with us to the apartment and showed us around. The apartment was meticulously clean, spacious and furnished with a lovely sense of traditional Venetian style. Enrico left generous supplies for us to start our holiday which made our first day worry free. The location of the apartment was fabulous - a deli, supermarket, butcher and baker close by, along with easy access to the Venice Biennale. During our stay Enrica checked in to ensure everything was in order and to ask if we needed any assistance. Overall, we would highly recommend this "rooftop" over Venice. Outstanding in every sense of the word.
A spacious, elegant, immaculate two story apartment with every amenity imaginable, this flat is a tranquil haven from the crowds of tourists in Venice. Enrico is charming and helpful and he responded quickly to our frequent email queries. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking implements as well as edibles. A true gem.
The Venice flat was terrific, well-appointed, great location, gracious hosts. We would definitely recommend Enrica and Enrico's apartment. Note: The flat does require a walk up several flights of stairs.
Enrica's apartment is in a quiet non touristy part of Venice, & is a perfect place to wake up in & to relax in at the end of the day. Enrica was very good to deal with, & gave us good directions to meet her husband, Enrico, at the end of the boat trip from the airport. Enrico then walked with us to the apartment & went up & showed us around. The apartment is clean & spacious with good wifi & other amenities.
We had wonderful stay in Venice. The apartment was lovely, and the location was great -- close to everything, but remote enough to be away from all the tourists. Enrica and Enrico were wonderful hosts. Enrico went beyond the call of duty, and was gracious enough to meet us at our water taxi and walk us over to the apartment when we arrived.
Venice can be a confusing place but Enrica and Enrico made it easy.
1) They met us at the vaporetto stop late at night, walked us to the apartment, and pointed out helpful spots.
2) There were snacks and drinks waiting for us which was a big help after a long day of travel.
3) They gave us a map marked with the apartment location and other recommendations.
4) Check out couldn't have been easier.
The apartment is beautiful and we enjoyed the library in particular. The location is a short walk from St. Mark's but still far enough away from the tour groups to feel like a real neighborhood. Everything worked great: A/C, wifi, the kitchen.
Enrica & Enrico were more than helpful during our stay. Enrico met us at the vaparetto stop and showed us around the neighborhood. They left us with fruits and some food at the apartment to start us off. The kitchen has everything you need. We end up cooking quite a few nights and the grocery store nearby has everything we need. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean. The view from the living room is stunning. One thing do want to point out is that this apartment has two floors and the stairs could be pretty steep for those have problems climbing stairs to the upper level.
The apartment is a bit away from all the touristy area but it's not far from St Mark Square, maybe 10 min walk at most. After all, Venice is so small! We kind of prefer this way as we get to see all the locals and their stores before we head towards the busiest St Mark district.
The overall experience was so wonderful and it was for sure the highlight of our honeymoon. We can't thank Enrico and Enrica enough for their above and beyond accommodations. They had been very helpful. We highly recommend this place to everyone!
Enrica & Enrico's flat is an amazing apartment within a wonderful city. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable. It'd be hard to find a better place to stay.
Also, Enrico and Erica are friendly, helpful, responsive and thoughtful.
Enrico met us as we got off the Vaparetto.
There was some food in the apartment when we arrived.
Also, this was our honeymoon and Enrico&Enrica left a rose for us in the apartment! A fabulous welcome!
When there was a small problem with one of the showers (there are two showers in the apartment) 1) they were apologetic and asked how they could compensate us for the inconvenience and 2) they asked if we wanted the problem fixed while we were still in Venice or after we left. We preferred to enjoy the apartment and just use the one shower. Enrico and Enrica more then compensated.
We were delighted to be hosted by these fine people in their peaceful space.
We had a lovely stay - Enrica & Enrico were wonderful guests, and came to pick it up from the vaporetto stop late in the evening.
The apartment is wonderful - very quiet, in a lovely area where you can live the Italian way.
In a nutshell a wonderful apartment, great hosts - all contributing to a memorable stay!
This was our first Airbandb experience. We had such a wonderful time that we are ready to turn around and go back! Enrico and Enrica are perfect hosts. My daughter and I were met by Enrico at the Vaporetti and he walked us to the apartment, carrying our luggage and filling us in on the neighborhood as we went. The apartment itself is perfect. Cold Persecco awaited us, fresh fruit, breakfast goodies. Enrico felt like a cousin, he emailed us with extra tips we might enjoy and was completely charming when we blew a fuse because we plugged in the wrong electronics. During our stay we visited friends at the Hilton and were thrilled to be back in our own apartment. The neighborhood is quiet and authentic, the apartment is spacious and tastefully decorated and Enrica and Enrico made our experience one to remember always.
