  • We were very happy staying in Sandra's Beautiful Log Cabin - it is located in a picturesque quiet place but not far from multiple attractions of the region - lake Bled, Vintgar gorge, lake Bohinj etc. The house is very cozy and well equipped. The access road to the parking place near the cabin is rather steep and narrow, but we were prepared for this, so this was not really an issue.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed in Sandra's cabin for 4 nights in late summer and used it as a base to explore the Triglav National Park, around Bled and to visit Lake Bohinj. The cabin is well situated to give easy driving access to these areas as well as offering local walks, a decent local pub/eatery down the road and nice views out over the local hills and mountains.

Sandra was easy to communicate with and sent us thorough directions and instructions before we flew to Slovenia.

The cabin was clean and tidy when we arrived and we enjoyed opening up the shutters, setting up the garden furniture, making the beds and generally making ourselves at home. Staying here
was a lot like staying at a friend or relative's well used weekender. Towels and sheets are a mixture, piled into a cupboard and while the whole thing is fairly simple, there are lots of personal/family touches and this suits the 'cabin' feeling. The kitchen is well stocked, as was the wood pile (a fire in the traditional ceramic, wood-fuelled stove is a welcome treat on a cold night!).

For those happy to be self sufficient, to rummage through the eclectic pantry supplies (or not) and also be prepared to clean the cabin well before you depart (the same 'using a friends place' approach), we're sure you'll enjoy staying here and definitely enjoy this wonderful part of the world. We did!

    Thank you Sandra!

  • We had a great stay at the cabin in slovenia and we loved this place. It was very cosy and enjoyed the silence. It is a little bit hard to get there, but we already decided to come back again.
Sandra is a very nice and friendly host. Communication was super.
    Kind regards Chris

  • It is really relaxing and calm place, situated next to the forrest close to the main sights of Triglav NP. The cabin is absolutely comfortable. We loved it!

  • We really enjoyed our week in Sandra's cabin. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and cooler temperatures! It's about 15 minutes from Lake Bled, so we went for a swim in the lake most days. We went to Austria for a day as well. There are two restaurants within walking distance.
The cabin is very well equipped and has a TV and lots of DVDs. It really feels like a home rather than a rental property !
Sandra was great to deal with; responsive and communicative.

  • Great place tucked away in the mountains. Very relaxing. Hard to find, so best arrive during daylight hours.

  • Sandra is prompt in her responses and the cabin is situated in a better area than bled (if you have a car). It is cooler during the summer with some great spots for hiking. We also did the emerald tour with white water rafting which you cannot miss(look up 3glav). The cabin is cozy with all the comforts of a home. Sandra welcomed us with a bottle of wine and some fine Italian biscuits that my son and I devoured. The elderly neighbors were extremely kind and had welcomed us with a bag of amazingly juicy pears from their tree and chocolate for our son. You cannot go wrong in choosing this cabin. The only thing I would mention is the twenty meter drive up to the cabin. It is narrow and steep, so if your not use to driving in Europe it might freak you out. Otherwise it's no different to many of the off roads one ventures in countries like Italy, Spain and Portugal.

About
Hello, My name is Sandy and I'm from the United States. I love to travel and see different sites. and learn different cultures. I'm currently retired from the United States Air Force, and travel most of the time. I bought this cabin in 2001 and it took me over two years to fix it up to what you see here in the pictures. I LOVE this cabin and wish I could get one built somewhere here in the states. I hope you enjoy this cabin as much as I do. It is very nice and comfortable.
