My fiance and I just found this app. And Jean is our first stay on Airbnb. The room was comfortable and Jean is a wonderful host. Stayed on New Years Eve and Jean wasn't concerned about us coming in a little late. Would go back again in the future.
Jean was a dream host! She was very easy to get in contact with, and was there at her apartment to show us around upon arrival! She pointed out some great spots to grab dinner, and other fun things to do around town, all from her amazing view. She laid out breakfast for us in the morning, and already had a pot of coffee brewed! We didn't see her much, but that was just because our schedules were different.
The apartment is very conveniently located! Close to some great shops, cafes, and restaurants! We ate at Wicked Hop the first night, recommended by some previous airbnb travelers. Great beer selection, great food, and the Von Bruenchenhein Pretzel Platter appetizer is to die for. After our show at the Rave, we went to a bar called Burn Hearts, very low key local feel. Brian was an amazing bartender and even gave us a whole list of places to check out around Milwaukee. The next day we had a late breakfast at the cutest little place called the Comet Cafe, about 10 mins from Jean's apt. BEST BREAKFAST I'VE EVER HAD. Their pancakes are worth the 10 min drive, and a whole trip to Milwaukee. We had dinner at Wolf Peach, where our bartender at Burn Hearts, Brian, also works. This is a great place to go if you want to have a fine dinning experience, but don't want to get all dressed up or spend a ton of money. For table, you do have to have reservations, but we just sat the bar and it was lovely.
Overall, Milwaukee was simply a dream. Thank you Jean for opening up our home to two strangers from Alabama, we fell in love with your city, and cannot wait to come back soon!
jean was the ideal host! she saved us a parking spot right in front of the building (it was a frigid weekend and she didn't want us to walk any further than we had to!) the bed is super comfortable, we had access to a private bathroom, and the apartment is in a convenient location with a beautiful view of the city. we would absolutely stay here again.
Jean was available to welcome us to her home on Thanksgiving Day-although our visit was brief we had great conversations.
The bedroom and bath were comfortable and the coffee was ready in the early morning hours.
A stay with Jean is a wonderful experience and we will return as soon as we can.
Wonderful hostess. Made us feel comfortable and accommodated. The apartment has a wonderful view of downtown Milwaukee and the Milwaukee River. She left us coffee and breakfast in the morning, too!
I really enjoyed my stay with Jean. She bends over backwards to make sure that you have a good stay. She came to pick me up at the train station and also drove me to my conference site each morning. The apartment is in a convenient location and easy walking distance from downtown.
The room was comfortable with a nice big window and a desk with a chair where I could work. The bed was SO comfy you would not believe it was a pull-out. Private bathroom, which is nice. Overall, excellent stay and I would definitely stay with Jean again!
My trip to Milwaukee was amazing and enjoyed every second of my trip to the Midwest. Jean, the host, was very nice and hospitable. She made our stay welcome offering rides to the airport and beverages whenever she could.
The location of the apartment was the best part. It was located on the riverfront in a quiet/safe neighborhood only 5-10 min walking from downtown.
I highly recommend staying here if you visit Milwaukee as Jean is the prime example of friendly and hospitable Wisconsin’er.
We stayed another three nights with Jean and just continued our wonderful experience. The room, view, and location are perfect and the bed was very comfortable. Thanks again, Jean, for making our time in Milwaukee so fun and easy.
We loved the apartment, we had a whole wing to ourselves (including our own bathroom). The room has a fantastic view over the river with lots of warm sunlight filtering in. Jean was a very gracious host, picking us up and dropping us off at the nearby train station. We really appreciate all she did for us. We'll be sure to visit again if ever in Milwaukee.
My husband and I had a delightful stay while visiting our daughter in Milwaukee. Jean was very welcoming, friendly and helpful! We had our private space and bath which was very comfortable and a lovely view of the river. We will come back!
