Cardiff is very flat and shopping is mostly undercover. Do go to the indoor market for just about everything, it's cheap, cheerful and full of Victorian character. Remember that St Fagans and the National museums are free and worth a gander. Tourist Info is bang in the centre of The Hayes and has an interactive history section.
Cardiff Bay sports a beautiful front and is jam packed with fabulous cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, historical sites+buildings including The Senedd and Wales Millennium Centre for concerts. Take a boat taxi around the Bay or walk along The Barrage - perfect on a Sunday afternoon.
Eateries, bars, pubs, and nightclubs are a plenty, especially down the St Mary street strip. Try Brains beer and the fresh Welsh cake stand in the market, you can try before you buy.
Splott is on the edge of the city centre but is very residential. It's a 10mins drive to Cardiff Bay, the centre and out-of-town superstores on Newport Rd.

Splott is a working class residential district of the capital, just on the edge of the centre. I tend to find that I can easily survive via local amenities. I've spent a month and I fell comfortable. All facilities were available for me. Also Rossi is very friendly person. Everything from the description was fine. The location was good. 20min walking to city center was pretty nice comparing to bus.
Rossi is amazing I stayed with her for one week during this week I was looking for a job and somewhere to live permanently in cardiff, she helped me with locations and looking for properties online ! Highly recommended she is lovely the house is very nicely set up also
Rossi is unbelievable. So kind-hearted will tell you from budget attractions to high-end locations to visit. She is so well-versed and your stay is going to be as pleasant as possible. From the first moment she made myself feel like home. Quiet neighborhood just ten minutes away from city centre. Not a big deal to handle with the great transportation that Cardiff can offer you. Her facilities are pristine and definitely would stay there again on a future Wales getaway. It was my 1st experience with Airbnb and Couldn't be any better to say at the least.
I stayed here for a few weeks and Rossi was very accommodating. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. It was a relaxing atmosphere in the house and I would happily stay again.
Thanks to Rossi we've had a great time in Cardiff. She is a warm and friendly person. She gave the place a homey feeling, and we had the feeling that she welcomed us in her home. We came there for a nights sleep and we've got even more then we asked for. Thanks for your hospitality Rossi.

I enjoy all aspects of being a host, providing a big Welsh breakfast, having a chat over a vino, giving visitor information on the capital and helping guests as much as possible.
As for things I like, I'm a huge rugby fan, keen independent traveller, current affairs, entertaining friends at home, socialising in the city, talking about the Welsh language, cinema, photography, comedy nights at The Glee Club, Curb Your Enthusiasm, home baking and a large glass of vino calapso after a hectic week.
I appreciate good communication with potential guests so that their stay is as pleasant and hassle free as possible. I'd like to think that I go an extra mile for guests, so if you want me to put some beers in the fridge, a heated footspa, or some Welsh cakes on your arrival, just ask.
