Nearest tubes are Elephant and Castle and Borough, both just a few minutes by bus ( every couple of minutes).
Direct buses to the West End, Theatreland, London Bridge ( Borough market ), Tower of London, the City, Greenwich, the Southbank, Bloomsbury, British Museum, British Library, Camden, Hampstead and many popular destinations.
Tesco and Lidl superstores are close by, a couple of minutes walk. Asda, a short bus-hop or 10-15 minute walk. Old Kent Road, around the corner, has a multitude of diverse cafes and takeaways. Bermondsey Street is a 20 minute walk.
Shoes off within the apartment.
Friendly host who's more than happy to assist you with your stay. Freedom to come and go as you please. Make sure you sample his home made pizza!
Jan is amazing! He is very nice and funny ! We really enjoy stay in Jan's room .
The location is near to the bus stops who serves all london , very good .
Great shared apartment, would definitely recommend to this place to others. Close walking distance to busses taking you in 10 minutes into the city, or walk in 20 minutes to the Tower Bridge. Jan is a friendly host, who offered to help with planning my trip (the recommended Barclays bike scheme for GBP 2 per day were a hit :)
It was an great experience. The house is clean, the music really good (not all the time or at bad hours, but good music now and then) and the walls full of art. Jan is nice and fun to be around. I needed to receive several packages from mail and he was willing to help. The only complaints are that the mattress is thin and you end up sleeping over the wood slats and the wifi not working some times.
Jan was a great host, we really enjoyed our stay in his house. Jan gave us some advice about great places in London and its suburbs.
We were only a little disturbed by the heater in the bedroom. It shuts itself in the middle of the night, but it is better to know that.
The place is well located, the buses are going in the center of London in less than half hour.
My teenage daughter and I stayed at Jan's home for 7 nights. Jan is a wonderful, helpful host whom I would highly recommend. He is pleasant to talk with, knowledgeable about all things London (and many other subjects), and we felt "at home" from the minute he first opened the door. The flat is one flight up and is clean and airy. Jan gave us full access to the kitchen and living room as we needed. The room itself is small but provided what we needed - a closet to hang-up clothes and a bed to sleep on. There is a primary school across the street and it may be a little noisy during the day but otherwise it is a very quiet neighborhood. The location is great for transportation to anywhere in the city - about 9 buses come to the stop 2 blocks from the flat and the tube is a quick bus ride away. There are also many shops and a full-sized Tesco nearby for anything one might need. This was our first airbnb experience and I am quite pleased with the whole deal.
