I had an smooth arrival, Agnes was there and was really kind and helpful. She explained everything to me and even some markets and places around. The room is small but I already knew about it, it was just for two days.
The wifi doesn't work at this room. I had to leave the room every time I wanted to use it.
The neighbourhood is great, you can find trams really close to go anywhere (or go by foot to the centre, it's like 20 min away).
Unfortunately on the last day the water was cold, and very uncomfortable for me and my boyfriend to take a shower.
We had a small room but really it was OK. If you go to Amsterdam, you spend your night outside, you just need a place to sleep.
The best thing about this listing is that it is ideally located.
Agnes took care of us and gave advice.
We had to gave her 100€ as a security deposit that she gave back to us when we left.
Agnes met us upon arrival. We paid our 100 Euro cash deposit. She showed us our room which is somewhat similar to the one in the photo. What you don't expect is that the dresser next to the bed has been changed and not for the good. The room is the width of the bed and the door into the room cannot open all the way. The bed is not a double bed. There is a beach bucket for a trash can. There is nowhere to hang clothing. The dark and dingy bathroom had a damp odor and it turned out there were 7 of us sharing it. There is also a large dog on the premises. The TV can only be viewed if you stand on the bed. The bed came apart and the doorknob came off so that we had difficulty leaving the room. We never were able to find the lights for the hallway. The water heater must be turned on IN THE KITCHEN before you can shower. She didn't answer our texts regarding these problems and then accused us of breaking everything and said she'd have to charge us. Then, when we called AirBnB she said she had already filed an insurance claim for the damages. This was a terrible experience. Oh, and did I mention the 'mice?' I think she actually met 'rats.' I have photos of the threadbare washcloth, the broken doorknob, and the bed. Don't make the same mistake we made. The location is good, but the hotel we got when we moved out only charged 10 Euros more and it included breakfast, a room with two single beds, en suite, a frig, and the doorknob didn't fall off--ever. I'm giving it 1 star because I can't do minus 5 stars.
This is a very compact room suited for traveller who has a tiny size luggage, and located not far from the centraal.
The lacklustre reviews below are fairly accurate, but if you're not that picky, I suppose the place is fine.
However, the 100€ deposit for the keys was unexpected and left a bad taste in my mouth. A bit of a last minute booking for me, and certainly not worth the price.
Agnes was there to meet me on my arrival and gave me a friendly welcome. The room is cute and has a nice window where you can look out to the street, as you see in the picture. It's a very small room but I found it ok for my short stay. The small kitchen is only for tea and coffee, and does not have a kettle (water is boiled in a pot on the gas stove), but there is a microwave you can use to heat things and a fridge. The location is convenient and the neighbourhood is interesting and pleasant - good tram connections, walking distance to nice places to eat, away from the chaotic atmosphere of the centre just enough, but not too far to be inconvenient. Only 2 minutes to Anne Frank house. Agnes seems like a nice lady although I didn't see her much, she was helpful and kind, and she keeps the place clean.
