Stayed in this little delightful "village" last year. Once again The staff were lovely and accomodating - nothing was too much. A little rustic but the beds comfortable (both day beds and night beds), pool clean, garden, brekky, security and air con - all you need. A little out of the town but hey - less than $5 taxi! Thanks again - especially Kutut.
We stayed 4 nights in lotus lumbung which seems to be the smallest of all the houses in Rumah David village. Overall the images show the real location, just some time ago :)
The bathroom was minimalistic and abrased (like the kitchen) whereas the bedroom is cosy and the AC worked fine.
The breakfast was good, fresh fruits everyday.
The pool was clean and refreshing, though it looked bigger on the pictures.
1 big issue for us was the very noisy street that leads a few meters from the bedroom window so the nights were very loud.
Another aspect you have to consider is that the place is 20 min per foot from the center - we walked that every day though the street is very dangerous, especially in the dark (big wholes in sidewalks, barking dogs).
The staff was very friendly and helpful, we got breakfast earlier than normal because of our departure.
awesome stay before we departed for the airport... this is our second time staying there... we like it here
the place is so lovely and cozy! we felt like we were camping with luxury... good wifi... nice breakfast and they helped us with renting a scooter and finding a driver... very helpful!
The Lotus Lumbung is a cute little place to stay & the room is very well sealed, so we had no trouble with bugs & didn't need a mosquito net. A/C works really well, staff is very nice and helpful.
What's not fully clear is the pool isn't private to your unit, but rather to the sanctuary, but we found almost no one used it anyway, so it was fairly private.
We extended our stay to another bungalow since we liked the sanctuary so much - my only "complaints" would be that 1) it's not as private in the others because it's the first unit in the front [there are shades you can pull closed, though] and there are a LOT of big ants in the bathroom at night [not really something that can be helped, but a small nuisance]
Would stay again without hesitation :)
This was the perfect little landing pad for me arriving on my own for the first time in Bali, the place is lovely with great rooms.
But to be honest what makes this place amazing are the beautiful Balinese staff. They are like family and on day 2 I fell and badly injured my foot and leg and couldn't walk, and was really shaken up, they did everything they could to help me, moved my things to another room without stairs, took me to hospital for X-rays, stayed with me, drove me around. They really took care of me and I can't thank them all enough.
I would highly recommend this place to stay for anyone wanting to visit Ubud. xx
What a creative and beautiful place. Staff were so friendly and helpful and we felt very relaxed staying at Lotus Lumbung. We will definitely be staying here again for sure.

About the Host, David And Brenda
David, my husband was a set designer and furniture designer for the movie industry in Los Angeles for thirty years and worked with the tops in the industry....Steven Spielberg, Jodie Foster, Robert Redford, Bruce Springsteen and many more. His built the Captains Chair for Star Trek Insurrection and had the most "ordered" bed in TV history from the TV hit, "Mad about You".
He designed furniture for many top Restaurants in Los Angeles from the Saddle Peak Lodge in Malibu to Malibu Adobe with Ali McGraw. His resume is extensive and his client list is long....Billy Crystal, David Hasselhof, Arnold Schwarzanegger to Keenan Wayans.
He has translated that skill into building ten amazingly different houses since he's come to Bali. Our house is amazing and you will see why he is so in demand!
I have a variety of interests that keep me busy. I have spent years doing spiritual growth work and now work with others with addiction and codependency issues. I love this work and the chance to give back what I was taught. I've been an artist my whole life so our home is filled with original art ( mine and others) and I have an awesome studio..Anyone that loves to paint will fall in love here. My latest passion is teaching Zumba, What a blast!
As you can see, we are both loving our life and filling the hours manifesting our dreams. We both are creative artists and love to explore the world and the people in it.
Since we've been in Bali we've been taking in South East Asia. We love Vietnam, and Thailand for their amazing cuisine.
We are frequently traveling, so we are sorry that we don't get to meet all our guests, but we leave you in the hands of an amazing staff and manager, Eko and Sakming, who will be your contact people.
