Shoji-lake Retreat is a guest house located in a mountain village along the old highway called Nakado Okan on the north shore of Shoji-lake.
Mt. Fuji is not visible from the facility, but it is a 10-minute walk to the beach with a view of Mt. Fuji in front. It is also the perfect base for various trekking courses such as Panprama-viewpont, Sanpo-Bunzan, and Tokai Nature Trail.
We lend out 3 bicycles for free. Please use them to explore the neighborhood.

Keep in mind:
We have one cat. If you are allergic to cats or are not good with cats, please refrain from booking.
The bus to the fifth station on Mt. Fuji departs from Kawaguchiko Station. The facility is located on the shore of Lake Shinrin, about 20 km from Kawaguchiko Station. It is not suitable as a base when climbing Mt. Fuji via the Yoshida route.

The space
Private room with a lock. It is a 10 tatami mat Japanese-style room with windows in two directions, good sunlight and ventilation. We can provide up to 2 sets of futons. The room is on the second floor. Stairs may be dangerous for young children.

For eating out and take-out: Restaurant Ju (10 am - 5 pm, closed on Tuesdays) is a 2-minute walk away. There are also 3 other eateries within a 10-minute walk, but they are only open for lunch. The only convenience store nearby is the Yamazaki Store (6: 00 am - 7: 00 pm), which is a 6-minute walk away. There is no ATM.
There are many restaurants in the Narusawa area and Kawaguchiko city, but it takes more than 20 minutes by car from the facility.

Among the five lakes of Fuji, Lake Shinji is known for having almost no tourism industry. It's perfect for those who want to spend time quietly because there is nothing there.

In the village, there is a shrine with a thatched roof and a Zen temple, and the 1,200-year-old sacred tree, "Shojin-no-Otsugi", is the only tourist attraction in the village. It's a 3-minute walk to the shrine from here.

Mt. Fuji is not visible from the building, but it is about a 10-minute walk to a scenic overlook with a view of the Mt. Fuji foothills and forest. There are 3 bicycles that we lend to guests free of charge. Please use them to get to the cycling and trekking courses.
