  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was really good. Theodore picked us up from the airport and even drove us to the city to rent a scooter. His house is fantastic. It's just outside of Pelekas, an interesting town to see. If you want to see some traditional villages around, Pelekas is a good place to start from. Many of the beautiful places are located in the western central island. The house itself has a huge garden, cute little cats and a museum of traditional greek vestiments on the main floor managed by his mother.

Overall we can really recommend the accomondation and the host.

  • Not only is Theodore's house the most gorgeous place I have ever stayed, he was also an above-and-beyond gracious host. He picked us up from the airport, toured us around town and brought us back to the airport for our 6 am return flight! His house is in the peaceful but fun village of Pelekas, close to the breathtakingly beautiful sandy beaches and far enough from the touristic parts Corfu town. Every day I stayed there, I was overwhelmed by a feeling of unbelievable luck for having landed in this spot. Can't recommend it enough.

  • Theodore! Loula and Golfo are wonderful people. The house location is spot on with Theo's online pics and write up. Theo is an honest, heartwarming host who goes out of his way to accommodate his house guests.

  • Charming welcoming by Desfa and nice house & garden.
We were there during the peak of heat and it was difficult to sleep because we come from a very cool country. But now there has ceiling fans, it should be better!
The village of Pelekas and his beach are amazing. It is also very close to the beautiful village of Sinarades.
But you must rent a car or a scooter because running times by the summer heat are inconceivable.
This is perfect to go geographically throughout the island and discover!

  • Me and my partner had a wonderfully relaxed time at Desfa's. The garden is an oasis of green and it was a pleasure to look out on it from the balcony. Theo was very kind and obliging - meeting us off the boat in his car, and again, driving us to the boat at the end of our stay. We felt very at home and used the kitchen to cater for ourselves from the fresh fish and produce market in Corfu town. It's easy to catch the bus into Corfu Town from the house... or you can find some good little shops and cafes in Pelekas village. The closest beach is very beautiful - about half an hour walk away. The mosquitos are a bit ferocious but it's the price you pay in summer for being in beautiful Corfu!

  • Thoroughly recommend theodores hospitality and beautiful house in the hills near pelekas. This is the real corfu, and his families hospitality and friendliness (especially his mother Lula) is perfect.
The accomodation is real corfu, everything works and is warm and comfortable, with a lovely balcony from the bedroom beneath the olive trees.

Theo met me at the airport and guided me back to the airport (I hired a scooter from Nikos at corfu moto at 75 E per week - pick up and drop off at airport), all without asking!

10 minute walk to the beautiful village of pelekas or 2 minute scooter ride, where you enjoy quality corfiot food at Agnes or Alexandros.
Glifada and Pelekas beaches are very close, 10 mins by scooter, and very beautiful.

Corfu town is only 12 km away (20 min on scooter) when you prefer to see the town.

A great week and thoroughly recommend, and you generally have the kitchen/living room to yourself too, and lots of visits to the kitchen door from the little cats wanting saucer of milk!

Also do not miss a visit to theos mother costume museum above the accomodation, very beautiful and very interesting, including a photo of Theos mother with Charlton Heston in the 1960's as a professional dancer!

Dont forget the suncream when the sun comes out!

Thanks Theo and see you and your mother soon!

  • Theodore's place was super cute and the area was gorgeous. At night it got a bit chilly but there were ample blankets and we were there early spring. Pelekas was pretty quiet - also probably because it was out of season - but still really pretty and quaint. Bussing into Corfu was really simple though Theodore offered to drive us. Well worth it!

  • It was a nice stay. A little cold at times due to a lack of heating, but overall a nice stay.

  • Theodore was so amazing and accommodating! He, more than a few times, drove me into and out of town. The house is a clean, quiet and relaxing place. The doors open straight from the room to the terrace and is lovely when the sun is shining.

I planned quickly when coming to Corfu, and didn't realize that Theodore's house is 10+ km out of town. The bus drops you off very close and was helpful, but I would suggest that other travelers rent a car. I felt a little too reliant on Theodore's help.

Otherwise, the pictures are close enough to the real thing, he provided shampoo and plenty of clean towels, and there's also an avocado tree in the yard. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is a great room to let in his apartment.

Oh, and he plays music, he's a violinist and I was lucky enough to not only hear him play with some other local musicians, but practice one afternoon in his studio (another room in the apartment). That was a nice treat.

  • This property is grossly undersold in Desfa's profile ! The accommodation space itself is part of a three-storey building which also houses the family's private Greek Costume museum. The building is situated in the lower reaches of Pelekas Village and is fronted ideally by the national trunk road which provides easy access to Corfu Town (about 6 miles and only a bus ride away from Desfa's). Not that Desfa would give you a chance to experience that as he feels it's his duty to take you everywhere in his car !

This guy would do anything for you and you don't even have to ask him !! I mean, he picked us up from Corfu Town, drove us to the nearby Blue Flag beaches of Kontogyalos and Glyfada, and drove us into Corfu Town for shopping. He invited us, a number of times, to see his music shows although my wife's health let us down each time.

On our last day of our stay, we got a free guided tour of their private museum after which his lovely mum made us some authentic Greek lunch. Later that evening, Desfa drove to the airport and, yes, it was again free ! I don't know if this guy is running a charity or a business. I think he needs to decide soon.

If you are visiting Corfu and looking for somewhere nice to stay for a true exprevience of the much vaunted Greek hospitality, Desfa's place is the where you want to stay. It does not offer luxury accommodation, but the personal touch provided by Desfa and his mum would certainly leave you with a Greek experience that is hard to forget in a hurry.

We had a great time with Desfa and his friends and are already missing them. We hope we are able to do another holiday with them and simply can't recommend Desfa's place enough - great guy, great mum, beautiful place ! Thank you ,Theodore, for all your kindly acts and please pass on our love and regards to your mum and friends.
