Natalie is a very responsive host. The home is clean, cozy, and well appointed. The are is very peaceful when the property isn't being used for other purposes. We were told that the outdoor education class would not be near the house, they were. It was loud and not the peaceful retreat we had hoped for.

Response from Natalie:
Erica, I deeply apologize for this, especially because you were really seeking peace and quiet. I am very sorry things turned out this way. This is a case of me assuming people will follow instructions. I guess I shouldn't given that it can lead to airbnb guests being disappointed. I did ask all folks attending the program not to go near the house and I do tell all yurt guests to text me instead of coming to the door. But I am not making excuses. Thanks for your honesty.

I highly recommend Natalie's wonderful little oasis!! I had a wonderful time exploring this lively and vibrant property, home, and town. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and taken care of. Everything from the woods, the cozy bed, wonderful porch, awesome garden, and friendliest cat ever made my weekend perfect. Thank you!

This place is exactly as described--definitely rustic, but also cute and great value. We had some issues with smell from the composting toilet, which may have been from lack of familiarity with the system--we eventually figured it out. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place for the winter, as we did need to make use of the outhouse, but for the warmer weather it was fun and we had a great time!

This cottage was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for!!! It was a nice mix of being off the beaten path, but still felt accessible for people unfamiliar with the area. The closest beach was quiet and not crowded at all. We also loved being able to bring our dog with us!

Overall we enjoyed our experience at Natalie's Eco-Retreat. Being from LA, the home was prob a little too environment-friendly for us, but the effort Natalie makes is commendable and admirable. We had the opportunity to chat with her lovely hubby and kiddos the day we departed - super sweet peeps. A very pleasant experience overall and would def recommend a stay if you happen upon Barry's Bay :)

Natalie's place is really nice! Cosy and warm once you get the fire started. Her cat is really friendly too, so do hang out with her when you guys are there. Would recommend this place to anyone exploring the area!
