Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a Tiny Home? Nestled among the trees, overlooking a neighboring pond, and completely off grid our home will provide you with a unique experience in a solitary setting. This solar-powered home was mainly built from recycled and re-purposed materials. The Tiny Home is also close to many Summer activities such as water holes, hiking trails, Lake Carmi, Jay Peak, bike trails, Kayaking, covered bridges, and the color changing leaves in the Fall.

The space
The Berkshire Tiny Home on Wheels is approximately 8 x 16. The home is in a secluded area overlooking a neighboring pond yet close to the road. The natural spring feeding the pond will be a welcome sound as you retire for the evening. Swimming in the pond is not allowed but there are several water holes around the area as well as Lake Carmi nearby.

We have a enhanced cleaning regimen as well as a couple days in between bookings to fully disinfect the home. We are also offering a check in video for guests on how to use the home.

The home offers you a rustic experience completely off grid as it is powered by solar panels feeding a Yeti Solar Generator. This in turn is connected to a breaker box powering a few appliances in the home. The type of electrical appliances available for use are limited so the system is not overloaded. Please do not bring any electrical gadgets unless they are usb operated. We will take time to explain during check in or send you a check in video prior to arrival. The Yeti will recharge automatically as soon as the sun comes out.

The kitchen has basic items and utensils to prepare yourself a meal. There is a gas range and oven as well as some spices. For potable water, there is a sink with a hand pump connected to a 5 gallon water jug under the sink. There is also a small 26 quart Orca cooler for your convenience--this will keep your food cold for a few days. Feel free to bring your own coolers or let us know if you might need one.

The private loft offers a queen size bed for sleeping., take extra care going up and down the ladder. The home has a small living area in which the built-in sofa can also turn into a single bed. A Vermont Hearthstone propane fireplace will keep you heated during the cool Spring or Fall nights. In the midst of the Summer, there will not be need for the fireplace and we encourage you to leave the screened windows open to let in cooler air. The loft can get quite warm during a hot day, so we have provided our guests with a number of USB powered fans to try to make it more comfortable.

A TV and Blue Ray player may offer some entertainment if you want to simply sit down and relax--feel free to bring some of your favorite movies if you would like.

The bathroom has a rustic compost toilet. We highly recommend that you research this topic before such an adventure as it could be a new experience to some folks. Please remember, you are technically camping. However, unlike camping you will be able to enjoy a hot shower. The TH has a 30-gallon water tank so we ask that you take "Navy Showers" to prevent you from running out of water. The shower is heated by a gas propane heater and the water pump is powered by the Yeti generator. Refilling the water tank is easy and we will send you the information on how to do it.

Please be advised that there is no WiFi nor cell reception in the property. You will truly be off the grid. Cell reception is very spotty in this Northern section of VT—if needed you can get service 1/4 mile down the road. Driveway is loose stone.

Where you’ll be

Berkshire, Vermont, United States

This Tiny Home is located in a private setting yet it is close enough to a main road for easy access. SR 108 is right next to the property but the home is barely visible from the road. You will most likely not see any neighbors as you rest outside after a fun day in the Vermont country side.

We are are not your typical VT couple. Jill grew up right here in Montgomery and Rafa in El Salvador. We met at BYU and after graduating, we have lived in many places from California to Puerto Rico but we have now settled down and will stay in our beautiful VT. We are both very active with coaching sports, school, and the community--mainly Scouting. We both love and cherish our elderly parents and are very involved in our kids upbringing.
