The Space

This is a large comfortable family room available in a large recently renovated house. There is WiFi, free parking, and a front and rear garden.

You are more than welcome to use the kitchen during your stay.

We are located in a quiet neighbourhood and is about a 30 minute walk from the town centre, but if you don't fancy the stroll, there is regular bus service too.

Shops, restaurants and bars are nearby. There are a few traditional pubs just 5 to 10 minutes from the front door.

I've lived in the area for about 20 years, and will be more than happy to point you in the right direction, and help you get the most from your visit to Edinburgh.

If you're driving to Edinburgh and would like some help finding the house, I'll be happy to come and meet you at the bypass, so you can follow me back. Just let me know when you make the booking, and give me a call on your way.

I really enjoy hosting, and look forward to hearing from you!

  • Experience was very good! Ronnie was very helpful and so nice and had a realllllllly nice place! He let us use his laundry even though we offered to pay him, and he even let us use his soap even though we told we had our own. Would definitely recommend to friends and would stay with again if in the area!!

  • Our family of five stayed at Ronnie's for one night. We did not interact with him much, but he seemed quite friendly when we did. Our family room was large and comfortable (high ceilings and spacious feeling versus some other places) and our shared bathroom was very nice. The shower deserves special mention because there was great water pressure and lots of hot water, both are not always the case elsewhere. The location is good since there is free weekend parking out front and it is an nice walk to the castle and other main attractions. We would stay here again.

  • Ronnie's place was fantastic, and he was wonderful host. Everything was beautiful, spacious, clean, well-equipped, and Ronnie was terrifically helpful and warm. Very relaxed, with freedom to come and go, cook, hang out. Many many thanks!

  • If there is a better AirBnB host in Ediburgh, I will buy your haggis. Ron’s hospitality was one of the highlights of our family’s trip through Europe. We arrived on Easter at close to 10pm. When we emerged from the train station, Ron was waiting for us. After whisking us to his fantastic home, he helped us order food from a local Thai restaurant and even graciously spotted us the cash (we hadn't changed any money into Sterling yet.) We were traveling with our 14 month old daughter, and before we arrived Ron purchased a beautiful baby crib for us to use. His house is newly renovated and a serious treat. The bathroom was especially great with a HUGE antique tub and glorious shower with unending hot water. Ron is a laid back host, content to leave you to yourself if that is what you wish. I strongly advise against this. Ron is an amazing human! He is a wealth of knowledge about the area and a fantastic person to get to know. He was so patient with all of our requests and never uttered a word about our very busy and loud daughter. His house is out further than other AirBnB choices, but I would take the short strolls and bus rides 100 times over for the hospitality Ron provided.

  • Had a great time in Scotland and a nice stay at Ron's place. It is in a nice neighborhood and close to the bus station which takes you to and from the city center (only about 10 min ride). The room is clean, spacious, and super comfortable. Ron was even sweet enough to pick us up from the train station early in the morning. Thanks!

  • Ronald gave us one of our best airbnb-experiences ever! We stayed at his place for one month and we really loved it. The flat is equipped and arranged very well and the house is in a calm and lovely neigbourhood. Ronald was very friendly and helpful and we also had some very nice dinners and a great day out in Lindisfarne together. After all: 5 Stars & highly recommended!

  • It was a huge pleasure to be host by Ron in his house near the center (6£ by taxi, 10 min by bus).

Thx again and see you soon (I love this city)

  • Just enjoyed three day stay at Ronnie's and room was large, comfortable, clean and warm (radiator had own thermostat so could turn it up or down accordingly). An electric blanket was provided. Plenty of storage and hanging space for clothing. Separate bathroom well equipped with enormous roll top bath and separate shower cubicle - lots of hot water. Use of well equipped modern kitchen. Really appreciated being met at the station and taken to accommodation and introduced to other friendly guests staying in same house. Hospitality wonderful and very helpful. About a 10 minute walk to shops - 30 mins to main bit of Edinburgh. Ideally located if you are doing a course at the Salisbury Centre as I was. Would definitely book again if in Edinburgh. Thank you - much nicer than being in a hotel - great to be able to make own food.

  • We were very late in arriving in Edinburgh, and Ronald was so wonderful to meet us at the train station at 10:30 that night to bring us back to his lovely home. It was so beautifully clean, warm and organized. Ronalds generous spirit and warm intelligent personality made our trip memorable. He not only provided a perfectly clean home but a beautiful kitchen and well stocked refrigerator. We highly recommend Ronald and do hope to return to Edinburgh and stay with Ronald again.
