This luxurious apartment has everything you need: you'll even be able to enjoy some of those Dutch rainy days.
The living room has a lovely sitting area - with sofa to relax on as well as comfortable chairs. With a large plasma TV, a DVD player and dvd's, you might want to take a blanket and a cup of tea and stay on the couch watching films all day. In case you'd like other entertainment you can also sit down behind the big Apple computer and get online, or fill up the large bathtub in the bathroom to enjoy a hot bath and relaxing music.
When it's dry outside and the sun starts shining I can recommend for you to go outside. You'll step right into the center of the Amsterdam neighborhood called Jordaan. This area is like a village in the bustling city with small shops, restaurants and nice outdoor terraces everywhere. The Noordermarkt offers what's been voted as the best apple pie in Amsterdam - and a bit later on in the day you can enjoy a beer in cafe Nol. Of course, I can share more tips if you like.
If you like to cook I suggest a visit to the market and a home cooked meal prepared in the fully equipped kitchen of the apartment. There's a dining table to sit down and enjoy your meal.
Do you feel like getting an ice cream afterwards from the salon around the corner? Or will you just watch a movie in bed (plasma TV) or a settle down with a good book?
You can enjoy every day staying in this apartment!
Very nice apartment ! We were three friends staying at Floris's and we had a great time. The apartment is spacious, design, and located in a nice area. It is as described and shown in the pictures. Too bad it was winter so we couldn't enjoy the terrasse ;) Floris is a cool host, easy to communicate with. He did his best for us to enjoy our stay... and even offered us a bottle of wine :) ! I would definitely recommend his apartment to my friends and to airbnb users.
Great apartment, fantastic location, awesome city. Floris was very nice, let me borrow his bike (which in Amsterdam is awesome!), and left the place very clean. Would stay here any time I'm in Amsterdam. The location couldn't be better. Blocks from everything yet not on a loud busy street.
My niece and I stayed in Floris's apartment while visiting Amsterdam. It was a great place with everything you could need and I loved how it was decorated. And it had a nice outdoor seating area in the courtyard for some fresh air.
After walking all over town each day it was wonderful to get comfy on his sofa or lay around on the most comfortable bed ever. The location was also very good. Lots of shops and little places to eat and close to the tram. I highly recommend it.
My mother and I spent the Easter holiday weekend at Floris' apartment in the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam. Floris was a charming, helpful host that showed us wonderful hospitality, starting with a welcome bouquet of tulips and tipping us off to where the best apple pie in Amsterdam is to be found (Winkle, Noordermarkt!). The apartment was gorgeous, light-filled, homely and comfortable, much better than a hotel. The kitchen was sleek, modern and well-stocked, (as an avid morning coffee drinker, the nespresso maker was great to have) and the bed and bathroom were comfortable and luxurious. The location is also perfect, on a quiet street but only short walks away to all of the sights, markets and cafes.
A fun detail -- Floris is an Olympic medalist! He is clearly a positive, friendly host who is very generous to guests in his home. Cancel your hotel reserations and stay in his flat! I will definitely be coming back :)
Amazing. The lovely house is located in the beautiful neighborhood, Jordaan, only a few minutes away from everything. It has a beautiful and comfortable decoration from kitchen to the bedroom, more than what you see in the pictures.
The only problem would be not being able to leave the flat and see less of Amsterdam because of its charm.
I will definitely stay again, the flat somehow makes you feel like your own home.
The reservation was canceled 21 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I stayed at Floris' apartment recently when I could not find a hotel room in the city due to a large conference. I found Floris to be an excellent host, a most trustworthy person and an excellent communicator; all of which are extremely important in this type of long distance transaction.
The apartment was exactly as advertised. It's in an EXCELLENT location - quiet street yet a fantastic, hip neighborhood to walk around and explore local boutiques, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, etc. Its also just a 10 minute walk to the touristy areas of Dam Square or 15 mins to Leidesplein. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge, great gas stove and everything you need to make a wonderful meal at home. The back court yard and sliding doors give you a great deal of light and offer the option of eating al fresco! The bed is extremely comfortable and comparable to or better than many large international name brand chains I have stayed at - very important when arriving from a long overseas flight and needing to be rested for business meetings or exploring the city! The bathroom has a boutique hotel feel with a large soaker tub, dual sinks and large stone tiled walk in shower.
There are many bicycle rental shops a few minutes walk away and I highly recommend renting one and exploring the city like a local! The courtyard makes storing your bicycle over night simple and secure.
All in all, I can not say enough about Floris and his apartment - he is a great person with a wonderful apartment, in a great location.
I would definitely stay at Floris' apartment again on a trip to Amsterdam - whether there is a hotel room available or not!
My mother, aunt and I wanted to spend some days in Amsterdam. We were looking for a place to stay, confortable and clean, when we came to see Floris' apartament. It was "love at first sight", although you can never know, when you see a place in photo, how it is in reality.. well, Floris' place is exactly as it looks in the photos and even better!
The house is very confortable and nicely furnished, everything is new and fashionable. There's all you need to feel at home.
Rooms are spacious and well organised and the house is very clean. There's also a nice outer space where you can seat and relax breathing fresh air.
The neighborhood is quiet and very nice, a few steps away from the most important atractions of Amsterdam, but still in a very tipical atmosphere with all its canals and little streets, not too turistic but full of nice restaurants, cafès and shops..
Floris is a very nice host. He's friendly and polite. He was ready to help us in any way, to make the most confortable possible our stay at his place. He gave us a couple of tips about where to have a nice dinner or a delicious apple-pie and about nice places to have a walk (his favourites), that ended to be our favourites!! He put at our disposal all his stuff, books, pc, music.. everything!
We've been lucky to find such a host and such an accomodation, and all this definitly contributed to make so pleasent our trip to Amsterdam!
What a nice place! Top notch in every respect.. Location is great too, being dead in the center of the hip area Jordaan.
Floris, the host, is a great guy, and took care of everything that I needed.
