About this listing
Double room in a bright, airy flat with great views!
A bright, airy double room with large roof terrace in a penthouse style flat. Bathroom next door which you'd have mostly to yourself as I have my own en suite bath room without a toilet, so other than the odd toilet trip, I don't use the main (your) bathroom.
Hangers, towels, bed linen, 22" flat screen TV with Freeview digital channels & built in DVD player, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, kettle, toaster, work/dressing table, fan, lamp, alarm clock, hot water bottle with cover, magazines, global adaptor plug, London guide books, map of local area provided in room. Iron, dishwasher, washing machine. Room fitted with smoke & carbon monoxide detector/alarm. The flat has wooden floors throughout, velux style windows and two roof terraces, great views and large patio windows, so it has a penthouse feel. Fulham is vibrant with excellent transport links & lots going on. I'm not on a busy main road so it's not too noisy. Two supermarkets, pubs, cafes, restaurants etc nearby. See reviews for feedback. Please note that breakfast is not included, which is reflected in the competitive price of the room. However, tea, milk and coffee is provided. NB. Street view image is old & inaccurate, area has been refurbished and does not show the flat or its entrance.
Nearest tubes are Fulham Broadway, Parsons Green, West Brompton, all served by the District Line (West Brompton has great overground train service too) or Hammermsith is a 15 minute walk which has many tube lines into the centre. All tube stations can also be reached by a five minute bus journey if you prefer that to walking. Once at the tube, central London is easily reached and on a good day can only take 20 minutes. The N11 and N14 night bus service run all night to the flat and save you the pricey cost of London taxis!
Guests have access to a roof terrace, a bathroom that they will have mostly to themselves, and the kitchen when they need it. The booking is room only but guests are welcome to use the kitchen when they need it.
There is no elevator in the building. There are 3 short flights of 50 stairs in total.
Interaction with guests
I have been a host for a long time so know how to strike the right balance between being helpful and having a chat, but also letting guests get on with their own thing. Most guests are here with their own schedule and itinerary, not to hang out with little old me! However, I am always on hand to help, answer questions and chat.
Fulham is well located and on a good day I can be in central London in 30 minutes door to door. Fulham Broadway, Parsons Green, Hammersmith and West Brompton stations all have excellent links into the centre. Once at the stations, you have a vast choice of which line to take. I can advise you of this on arrival. The 295 and 211 bus also go from outside the flat to various different handy locations too.
Other things to note
Due to guests having such varying schedules, I do not provide breakfast, which is reflected in the competitive price of the room. There's tea and instant coffee available in the kitchen for the mornings but anything else such as milk, 'fancy' coffee, cereal, juice, toast etc you would need to provide & store in the fridge.
The wifi password information is on a white label on the bookshelf next to the dressing table, and on the back of the router in the living room.
My boyfriend William now lives here with me. He is friendly, helpful and understands the Airbnb system well. If I am not around he is on hand to help. We are both often out quite a lot and he is out at work all day. I work from home often but am also often out working.
My road is not a main busy road and therefore fairly quiet. However, this is London and as such, no road is without the odd noise of a passing bus or yelping cat! If you require complete and utter silence you may struggle to find this in London.
I'm often out, but I sometimes work from home in the living room so your boooking would technically be room only as I ask that the living room be left free for me to work in when I need to. However, you're welcome to use the kitchen to cook, and if I'm out you're welcome to use the living room. There's a TV and wi-fi in the bedroom.
I ask that no stiletto heels are worn in the flat as it damages the wood floor, and that you use a coaster for drinks and don't slam any doors as it can echo through the flat.
That's about it for "rules"!

I write and perform comedy for TV and theatre and work part-time in a nursery school. I am a born and bred Londoner so can help you with any info/advice you need on the big smoke! My boyfriend William works in hedge funds and is also a born and bred Londoner. We are out quite a lot but friendly and helpful when around.
