About This Listing
A bright, airy double room with large roof terrace. Bathroom next door which you'd have mostly to yourself as I have my own en suite bath room. Hangers, towels, bed linen, 22" flat screen TV with Freeview digital channels & built in DVD player, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, work/dressing table, fan, lamp, alarm clock, hot water bottle with cover, magazines, global adaptor plug, London guide books, map of local area provided in room. Iron, dishwasher, washing machine, printer, copier, scanner & fax available on request. Room fitted with smoke & carbon monoxide detector/alarm. The flat has wooden floors throughout, velux style windows and two roof terraces, great views and large patio windows, so it has a penthouse feel. Free calls to some land lines abroad. Fulham is vibrant with excellent transport links & lots going on. I'm not on a busy main road so it's not too noisy. Two supermarkets, pubs, cafes, restaurants etc nearby. See reviews for feedback. Please note that breakfast is not included, which is reflected in the competitive price of the room. However, tea, milk and coffee is provided. NB. Street view image is old & inaccurate, area has been refurbished and does not show the flat or its entrance.
Nearest tubes are Fulham Broadway, Parsons Green, West Brompton, all served by the District Line (West Brompton has great overground train service too) or Hammermsith is a 15 minute walk which has many tube lines into the centre. All tube stations can also be reached by a five minute bus journey if you prefer that to walking. Once at the tube, central London is easily reached and on a good day can only take 20 minutes. The N11 and N14 night bus service run all night to the flat and save you the pricey cost of London taxis!
Other Things to Note
Due to guests having such varying schedules, I do not provide breakfast, which is reflected in the competitive price of the room. There's tea and instant coffee available in the kitchen for the mornings but anything else such as milk, 'fancy' coffee, cereal, juice, toast etc you would need to provide & store in the fridge.
The wifi sometimes takes a few minutes to get going but it does work, sometimes after a couple of attempts. The network currently seems to have defaulted to a Talk Talk one, Talk Talk 520/500 or the like. So select that and it should connect right up without a password.
I'm often out, but I sometimes work from home in the living room so your boooking would technically be room only as I ask that the living room be left free for me to work in when I need to. However, you're welcome to use the kitchen to cook, and if I'm out you're welcome to use the living room. There's a TV and wi-fi in the bedroom.
I ask that no stiletto heels are worn in the flat as it damages the wood floor, and that you use a coaster for drinks and don't slam any doors as it can echo through the flat.
That's about it for "rules"!
Feri was absolutely lovely in her communications; even though she was out when I arrived, everything was organised and prepared perfectly, and I felt welcome and at home immediately. The room is really lovely - the entire flat is - and perfect for someone like me who loves light and views. Feri and I met briefly in the morning and I told her that she has found a permanent home in my address book! Will definitely stay there again.
Feri is a very pleasant host, with a bright vibrant personality.
The location is ideal for access to Central London.
As a double room we found it very cramped with little space to unpack and felt re arrangement of that room could provide better access to the bed for both guests. It was disappointing the balcony was not available due to a faulty blind and the main light could only be used from the ceiling switch. Plumbing in the bathroom left a lot to be desired - shower pressure came and went at will.
It met our needs in all, re price and location, but next time in London we will look elsewhere.
Staying with Feri was a comfortable experience. She wasn't around often but always available and helpful via mobile. When she was at home we got along well and didn't get in each others way. She provided us with excellent advice on where to go/ what to do as well.
Concerninh the apartment/ room you should be aware that it's a little tight and the lights might not work when it's raining. Nevertheless we enjoyed staying there, good connections to about everywhere :)
And great pub just over the road! ;)
