The Bruny Boathouse is nestled on the waterfront with panoramic views across d'Entrecasteaux Channel, Satellite Island & Hartz Mountain propped up in the background. Centrally located in the township of Alonnah on the western side of Bruny Island, The Boathouse is an ideal place to base yourself for everything that Bruny has to offer. Though, giving you the independence to seek some time out.

Follow us on socials @brunyboathouse for frequent updates on the area and space.

The space
The Boathouse is suited to all seasons, sit up on the deck in the warmer months and watch the yachts glide by, fish from the jetty, swim at the child friendly beach or simply collect shells from Shell Beach down at the front of the property. In the cooler months sit by the generous bifold windows and watch the weather turn across the ocean as you nestle in to a secluded corner of The Bruny Boathouse.

Designed around the boathouse theme, from the moment you open the door you are greeted by a high cathedral ceiling that draws your eye across the main living area to the stunning bifold doors that open right up on to the deck to take in the spectacular panoramic views across d'Entrecasteaux Channel.

This comfortable shack has 2 bedrooms and can sleep up to 4 people with all beds flanked in french flax linen doonas and pillows, fresh cotton sheets with firm mattresses complimented by cloud soft mattress toppers and bedding ensuring you have the dreamiest sleeps. Bedroom 1 a queen bed and bedroom 2 a king bed (with the option to split to 2 singles upon request). All bedrooms have built in robes to ensure your luggage and possessions are safely tucked away.

The bathroom though simple, does not disappoint - boasting local Tasmanian made soaps, body wash, shampoo & conditioner by Lentara Grove that will enlighten your senses whilst showering.

The modern kitchen boasts all of the amenities like fridge, toaster, kettle, nespresso pod machine, microwave and a smeg stove and cooktop to ensure you can prepare all meals with comfort and ease. We provide a simple complimentary pantry of muesli, pasta, olive oil, salt and pepper, sugar, teas, ground coffee and coffee pods for guests. For the bigger items we encourage you to drop in to a supermarket in Hobart to stock up on any provisions like milk, bread and any other culinary tassie delights you might want to cook up at The Boathouse. Though Alonnah does have a very well stocked general store open daily until 4pm.

The furniture and interiors have been carefully sourced to ensure that this is shack living at it's best - beautiful timbers, fabrics, linen and artwork that create a sense of understated charm with absolutely no fuss - you can enjoy all the comforts that The Bruny Boathouse provide, but really focus on the important things like long days at the beach, travelling the island with friends taking in all the stunning sites and scenery, eating at all of the restaurants and cafes on Bruny Island, sampling local whiskies, beers and wine and just forgetting about reality for a while.

Retreat to the fire pit for an evening under the stars or long afternoons on the seating catching some Vitamin D.

If you're partial to an adventure then Bruny Island will not disappoint - we recommend planning your days ahead to ensure you achieve as much as you can when touring the island.
