NOTE: The cabin is in a small valley and has a short down hill walk to reach the entrance. For most people this wont be an issue but we would like to mention just in case somebody is physically unfit or elderly.

A Note on the Neighborhood Vibe: To ensure absolute transparency for your stay, please note that our hut is nestled within an authentic, lively local community. Our neighbors occasionally enjoy daytime celebrations, including traditional karaoke music, during legally permitted hours (8:00 AM to 10:00 PM). While the jungle is completely peaceful, quiet, and serene at night for a restful sleep, this daytime music can carry over to the property. If you plan to relax at the hut during the day and are sensitive to sound, we highly recommend bringing along your favorite headphones, or using those hours to explore the beautiful falls and beaches nearby!

This is a provincial location so you can expect some tokos or gekos all over the island including our location too. But they're totally harmless so don't panic. (You may call them Barry 😊). It's something you should expect when visiting the more rural areas of the Philippines.

Island life includes some brown outs from time to time. They don't usually last longer than an hour and we provide you with emergency lights and a battery backup to power the wifi if you can cope without connection.

Guest access
Theres a bit of a hill down to the cabin but only about 40m. As long as you're fit and healthy its not so bad. Or if you're confident on a bike you can ride down.

Other things to note
We have two big dogs called Ebony and Kodak that love to swim :) but they will most be out of your way unless you want to play.

We're currently working on a road down so please bear this in mind. It's fine but you'll have to pass our workers en route for the meantime.

While mosquitoes, ants and gnats can be more active on rainy days, the presence of native insects is also part of the natural, jungle environment. They’re generally harmless and not a major issue, but if you have sensitivities or allergies to these, we recommend keeping this in mind when booking. We also provide off-lotion and mosquito coils for added comfort. After all, it’s a legitimate jungle setting.

Neighborhood highlights

Situated in the hillside, just 3 mins ride away from Lazi town center, guests have the opportunity to relax in the landscape garden, prepare fresh seafood or vegan food from the local market or use the rope-swing at the nearby enchanted river.

A short trip to the down to the local town will offer you everything you need in terms of amenities and a 15 min riverside walk will lead you to one of the islands most beautiful attractions, Cambugahay Falls with its cool mountain spring water and turquoise-colored pools.

Lazi town center itself is a quaint little town, largely unaffected by tourism . Home to the national heritage site ✞ San Isidro Church & convent ✞ along with some interesting local architecture, Lazi has heaps of character and photo opportunities. Bakeries and the local wet market sell fresh bread and local produce daily while cute little cafes offer up fresh brewed coffee, shakes & local dishes along with some western comfort foods too.

For the more adventurous traveler, underwater caves, hidden pools, rice paddies and local farming communities are in abundance within the surrounding area and whilst some are signposted others you'll have to discover yourselves.
