This room is quiet, looking onto a terrace. It's perfect for a parent travelling with a child, two friends who like to share a spacious room, and people needing to work at a desk with reliable wifi.
Park, pubs/restaurants, gym, transport nearby.
Modern newly refurbished garden flat in Battersea, 20 mins' walk to King's Rd. This is the perfect place to stay while visiting London.
Just 50 metres from the property you will find Battersea Park, which is considered by many to be one of the most interesting of all the parks in London. Here you will find a wide range of sporting facilities, a lake and attractive gardens.
Also close by are a variety of pubs and restaurants, plus a local sports centre.
Full continental breakfast can be provided if arranged in advance, but there is a charge of 5GBP per person per day. There are also two cafes (one Italian and one French) within 5 minutes' walk that offer an excellent breakfast.
Must like friendly elderly dogs - there are two: a black lab and a Jack Russell terrier!!
If you have any questions please send me a message and I will happily get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks.
Guests have access to the bathroom, kitchen and patio garden.
Interaction with Guests
I am always resident in the flat during a guest's stay. During the day I work from home, but I am usually in and out. When I'm home I try to achieve a balance between being friendly and accessible to answer any questions, while also respecting guests' privacy.
The choice of pubs and restaurants offering all different types of cuisine; a haven from the hustle and bustle of tourist London; and of course Battersea Park itself and all the activities it offers.
I always ask a guest which airport or station they are arriving at in London, so that I can offer detailed directions to my Battersea home, whether by public or private transport.
For guests with cars, I can arrange parking if given advance notice. There is a small charge (8GBP a day), but it is much cheaper and more convenient than meter parking.
Near the property you will find good bus links to the Victoria and Piccadilly tube lines and to Clapham Junction. Victoria and Sloane Square tubes are also about 30 minutes' walk, at least half of that being through Battersea Park.
Also, just a few minutes walk away, through the Park, you will find the Thames river and Albert Bridge, which connects Battersea to Chelsea.
We have Boris' Bikes immediately across the road for people to hire for cycling round London or just a quick ride round Battersea Park.
I can also call on a very reliable taxi service for guests needing transport at any hour of the day or night.
Guests are asked to be out of the property between 10am and 4pm unless otherwise arranged.
Anne was incredibly helpful and warmly welcoming. Our one night stay worked perfectly for us. The dog's were lovely, both soft natured. Great location with a quick bus ride over the bridge to South Ken (right outside Carluccio's) then popped on the tube to Leicester Square. All very easy.
During the journey, I felt comfortable and Anne was very friendly welcoming. I would like recommend to stay this place.
A pleasant place perhaps 10 minutes stroll from Battersea Bridge. Anne is a nice person, and gave us thoughtful suggestions for where to eat, what to see, and where the Post Office was.
The room was clean and a welcoming space (books and tea/coffee!). The bathroom, which you share with Anne, was very good also. I would definitely stay here again.
Anne is a very welcoming and kind host. She made me feel very welcome in her home. The room was exactly as described and the neighborhood lovely with Battersea Park close by. Very comfortable bed. I stayed one night and would definitely come back. Oh and her two dogs are very sweet.
My visit to Anne's lovely apartment was pretty short - arrived at 4pm, gone by 8am next morning, using the very convenient Bus #44 to get to Victoria.
My 3 criteria for a good room (in a hotel) are
1) Noise : In Anne's house there was absolutely none. Total silence during the night hours.
2) Bed : The bed was fantastic, and pretty long. (I am tall and don't like my feet hanging off the end)
3) Shower: I hate those showers that dribble! Not in Anne's house - great pressure and loads of heat. Also, really nice towels, everything absolutely clean.
There were 2 other nice things in Anne's house:
1. Anne - she's a very warm, friendly and helpful host, and replied very quickly to my "where am I??" e-mails. She knows her city and how to get around. Her great advice led to a really nice walk into Fulham through Battersea Park (well worth a visit) over the Albert Bridge and on into town.
2. The dogs (Sorry, Anne, I have forgotten their names!!)
Happy dogs mean a happy place. These dogs are what my kids would describe as "super-happy".
Thanks Anne, my visit was very short, but very good. See you again.
I visited with my friend and we stayed 1 week.
It was wonderful and comfortable room.
We stayed like our own room^^
And ANNE, she is really gentle and helpful.
Totally!! We already missed her and her house. And!! her dogs^^(so!! cute!!)
When we visit London again!! We promise to stay at her house.

I have two dogs so being just a few metres from Battersea Park is great! Often I'm out with friends, playing bridge, chess, going to films, theatre etc. or just being sociable in the several pubs and restaurants we have nearby. If I'm in I'm usually working (as an editor) so without too much time to chat!
