Enjoy .your next vacation at this private, beautiful riverfront property. It offers stunning Lake Superior views and direct snowmobile trail access. Located on the banks of Sand River in Northern Michigan's pristine Upper Peninsula, where clean air, water, wildlife & beautiful scenery abound. The property is open year-round. Welch's Riverview Retreat is a 3000 square foot home on a 1.8-acre riverfront, Lake Superior view lot. Easy access to Marquette and Munising.

The space
Features include a relaxing master suite with a bathroom, shower, large tub, two decks and a small desk. One deck offers a stunning Lake Superior and river view, the other, peaceful views of a small yard pond and trees. The home also features unobstructed views of the Sand River Bridge, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Living room, dining room with gas fireplace and spectacular lake, river and bridge views, kitchen, deck, 24x30 recreation room with 15 foot L-shaped solid oak wet bar, full-size slate pool table, darts and modern electric six-person cedar sauna with shower. The outdoor grounds include horseshoe area, fire pits, volleyball court, canoe and charcoal barbeque grill. Pets accepted, upon approval, so you don't have to leave your furry friend at home. There is a one time charge per pet of $50 per rental. If payment is not able to be made in advance we will collect this when you check-in. This is a great space for family and friends to unwind, with plenty of room to play. If you're seeking a sleek, modern space, this may not be for you. We are in a non-urban region, and as such, the home has more of a country feel to it. The water in this area has a high iron content which adds a slightly amber color to it. It also discolors tubs, showers, toilets, etc. We have a high-end filtration system in the basement, however you may still see evidence of the iron, which would be much worse without the system. It is nothing to be alarmed by and is completely safe. Those familiar with the area know that the bay in Marquette was once referred to as "Iron Bay" because of the huge presence of iron in the area. In addition, because we are not on a city water system, water pressure is impacted if multiple people are showering or laundry is being done at the same time. We recommend staggering showers for best results. Thank you for understanding, it's one of those things that go along with being outside of town.

Fee of $10 per person over 7 people.
We also at times will consider rentals of less than three days. Please contact us for this option.

The property is located on the shore of Sand River and just upstream from Lake Superior. The rental includes an Old Town Tripper canoe, which you can launch right from the yard, kayaking is also fun in the river, which most of the year is very slow-moving and relatively shallow in most spots. The Jeske Flooding State Wildlife Management Area is approximately 1 mile away and is a popular fishing and hunting site. The Tyoga Historical Pathway is also in the area and is recommended for those who enjoy bird watching.
