This is a lovely spacious double room which has a single futon bed in it. There also is a desk, a space to hang your clothes and two drawers to put your stuff in.
The window is double glazing so no chilly nights here, we also provide a duck feathered duvet to keep you (website hidden) in room!
Family bathroom is across the landing.
Check out the beautiful victorian fireplace (not in use!!)
In the room you'll also find a kettle with a selection of teas and coffee.
Continental breakfast is included in the price and we always tend to have a non dairy option available as soya or almond milk. We try to eat and drink as much organic products as possible and we offer the same food to our guests!
There is free on street parking just outside the house!
A little about the area:
Just around the corner is Gloucester Road, a popular and lively area, renowned for its independent shops and character. With its abundance of cafes, bars and restaurants, there are plenty of places to relax and watch the world go by and something to suit every taste and budget. We are also just a few minutes walk from leafy St Andrew's Park.
A 25 - 30 minute walk will take you to many of Bristol's popular attractions - the busy waterfront with historic harbour; the city museums and art galleries; Brunel's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, the S.S. Great Britain, and the large, open parkland of Clifton Downs, bordering on the Avon Gorge; also the recently upgraded shopping centre, Cabot Circus, in the town centre.
Our nearest bus-stop is just one minute walk away on the Gloucester Road (A38), and there are regular buses both into the city centre (5 - 10mins ride) as well as to the north of Bristol, home to the University of the West of England (UWE), GKN, Rolls Royce, Airbus, Aztec West Business Park or Cribbs Causeway Shopping Mall.
A little about us:
We're a family of 5. Two adults and three kids of 7, 5 and 1 years of age. The two eldest ones are in school during term time and come home at 4pm. All kids go to bed at around 7:30pm.
We have been hosting for some years now and enjoy the experience.
Children are welcomed, we have a spare highchair and baby bath as well as plenty of toys and books.
We speak Italian!
Sorry, we prefer not to have smoking guests!
Unfortunately we are unable to offer use of the kitchen at present. We have tried to share the kitchen with our guests, but since we are a family with young kids this has not work out for us and therefore we no longer offer use of kitchen facilities. The room has its own kettle and a selection of teas.
Sonia, Chris and their children are a really lovely family, their house literally makes you feel at home!
I had a wonderful stay at this place, enjoyed the fact that they were very welcoming and helpful to me if needed, I definitely recommend them!
The everyday breakfast was just perfect, the place is close to the main road where you can catch the bus to go into town, and there were a lot of supermarkets and restaurants around.
Sonia was very welcoming from the start! The location was brilliant just off Gloucester Road and the room was excellent. It was comfortable and perfect to stay for a few days or even a whole week like I did. Sonia has a lovely family and very well behaved kids. Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it!
Staying here was just lovely, really peaceful and comfortable. Sonia and Chris made me feel very welcome, and it's very easy to get along with them and the little ones. Fantastic breakfast included, WiFi allowed me to check my emails and do my research, and most appreciated free tea in the bedroom so I could feel even more refreshed in the morning. It was also a blessing that I could use the shower when I got home-after long days of physical theatre and dance, that's just what I needed!
The area is ideal if you're looking for a reasonably priced stay in a central location. It's a 20 minute stroll to Stokes Croft, plus there's a bus stop just over the road with buses heading to the centre, UWE, Cribbs Causeway and Temple Meads very frequently. You'll have no trouble finding places for food, as it's on the Gloucester Road, there are whole-food stores, foreign food shops and supermarkets galore. Morrisons is just down the road and Sainsburys is just up the road.
What more could you ask for?
All in all a perfect stay, so many thanks Chris & Sonia and much love x
I had a lovely time staying with Sonia. The kids are well behaved and quiet and having breakfast with them was so much fun. My room was clean and tidy, it contained a kettle with tea & coffee.
I spent a week at Sonia's, and I really enjoyed the time. It was a nicely decorated room. The kids are adorable. Sonia n Chris are very respectful and friendly. Definitely will recommend to others!! :D
Everything with the room, house, and location were as promised. Very convenient to the County Cricket Ground and easy access to the center of Bristol by way of the buses along Gloucester Road. Sadly I didn't get to meet Sonia or the kids as they were away on holiday but her husband Chris was a wonderful host on his own. Breakfast here is taken seriously with a full spread each morning. Even though the kids weren't there when I was there, they probably will be just about any other time. I hope only respectful, positive people will choose to stay here, the rest of you I suggest please look elsewhere.
I was extremely happy with my stay with Sonia and her family. The room and other facilities were exactly what I expected. Despite a busy work and family life Sonia and Chris were able to make time for their guests. They were very helpful and provided useful and reliable information. Their recommendations for eating and drinking were first rate.
The area is pleasant with plenty of local amenities. If you're reasonably fit it's a 20 minute walk into town or over to the downs. Buses into town are frequent.
I would certainly stay there again.
